Inleiding
IJzeren ERFSCHEIDING in Neo-Renaissancistische trant, behorend tot het fabriekscomplex 'Groest 104-106'. Het hek dateert uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw en is beeldbepalend gesitueerd langs de straat aan de westzijde van de Groest in het centrum van Hilversum.
Omschrijving
De erfscheiding bestaat uit een ijzeren spijlenhek met drie ijzeren regels, waarbij cirkels tussen de bovenste twee zijn geplaatst. De spijlen sluiten zich om en om in bogen, de tussenliggende spijlen bekroond door een Franse lelie. Voor de doorgang tussen de voormalige woning annex tapijtfabriek en de voormalige ververijen bevindt zich een tweevleugelig toegangshek met ter weerszijden een dikke veelhoekige geprofileerde gietijzeren pijler met bloemmotieven in reliëf en bloembolachtige afsluiting op de beëindiging. Het hek loopt voor de stoep van het woonhuis, met gekleurde plavuizen langs, een opening vóór de toegangsdeur in het midden van de oostgevel en bij de rechter zijgevel openlatend, terwijl op regelmatige afstand een stijl met krulvormige afsluiting is geplaatst.

Iron BOUNDARY FENCE in Neo-Renaissance style, belonging to the factory complex 'Groest 104-106'. The fence dates from the second half of the nineteenth century and is visually prominent, situated along the street on the west side of the Groest in the centre of Hilversum.
Description
The boundary fence consists of an iron picket fence with three iron rails, with circles placed between the top two. The pickets alternate in arched closures, the intermediate pickets crowned by a fleur-de-lis. For the passage between the former dwelling and carpet factory and the former dye works, there is a two-leaved access gate with on either side a thick polygonal profiled cast-iron pillar with floral motifs in relief and bulb-like finial at the termination. The fence runs in front of the stoep of the residential house, with coloured tiles along it, an opening in front of the access door in the middle of the east facade and left open at the right side facade, while at regular intervals a post with curved finial is placed.
