Inleiding
PAROCHIEHUIS 'De Schaapskooi' uit 1891-1892, behorend tot het kerkcomplex 'St. Vitus', gebouwd in eclectische bouwtrant onder leiding van K.P.C. de Bazel naar een door J.Th.J. uitgewerkt ontwerp van P.J.H. Cuypers. Het parochiehuis is gesitueerd ten noordwesten van de kerk, los en iets schuin daarvan, noordoost-zuidwest georiënteerd.
Omschrijving
Parochiehuis, opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond ter hoogte van een bouwlaag onder zadeldak met de noklijn haaks op de weg, bedekt met zwarte leipannen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen. De stolpvensters en deuren bevinden zich onder bovenlicht met gekleurde glas-in-loodramen.
De voorgevel (ZW) is drie assen breed bevat op de hoeken pilasters met panelen, ter breedte waarvan de houten gootlijst doorloopt, een gemetselde sierlijst ter hoogte van de verdiepingscheiding, een boogfries langs de dakrand tot het middengedeelte van de gevel dat is uitgemetseld en waarin op de begane grond een deur onder houten luifel, bestaande uit een zadeldak op gesneden schoren, en op de zolderverdieping een rondboog in siermetselwerk is aangebracht. Op de begane grond links en rechts een toogvormig venster, in de top van de gevel een ijzeren rozetvenster waarboven een tuitstuk.
De linker zijgevel (NW) wordt vertikaal geleed door drie pilasters.
De rechter zijgevel (ZO) bevat vier vensters.
De achtergevel (NO) is gepleisterd en bevat op de begane grond twee paar openslaande glasdeuren.

Description
Parish house, erected on a rectangular plan at the height of one storey under gabled roof with the ridge line perpendicular to the road, covered with black slate tiles. The facades are erected in red brick. The cottage windows and doors are situated under fanlight with coloured glass-in-lead panes.
The front facade (SW) is three bays wide, contains on the corners pilasters with panels, to the width of which the wooden eaves line runs through, a brick decorative frieze at the height of the floor separation, an arch frieze along the roof edge to the centre section of the facade which is laid out in brick and in which on the ground floor a door under a wooden canopy, consisting of a gabled roof on carved braces, and on the attic floor a round arch in decorative brickwork is placed. On the ground floor on the left and right a round-arched window, in the top of the facade an iron rose window above which a spout section.
The left side facade (NW) is articulated vertically by three pilasters.
The right side facade (SE) contains four windows.
The rear facade (NE) is plastered and contains on the ground floor two pairs of glass doors opening outwards.
Valuation
The parish house is of general importance on account of its architectural and cultural-historical, as well as typological value as a well-preserved example of a parish house in eclectic manner, built in 1891-1892 under the direction of K.P.C. de Bazel after a design by P.J.H. Cuypers that was worked out by J.Th.J. Cuypers, and as a functional-spatial component of the Roman Catholic church complex 'St. Vitus', prominently sited in the centre of Hilversum.
