Onderdeel 2 Tuinmanswoning:
Voormalige TUINMANSWONING uit het midden van de 19de eeuw in een sobere eclectische trant is gelegen ten aan het einde van de oprijlaan, ten noordwesten van een watergang. Er tegenover (ten zuidwesten) lag het buitenhuis. Onder meer het balkon en de sterke overstek van het dak geven het geheel een Chaletachtig uiterlijk. De tuinmanswoning is waarschijnlijk een ontwerp van J.D. Zocher jr. en diens zoon L.P. Zocher, die in de periode 1839-1854 de aanleg van het landschapspark in opdracht van de toenmalige eigenaar, Arnout Willem Baron van Brienen van de Groote Lindt, voltooiden. Hij had in 1839 de buitenplaats Oosterbeek aangekocht en was tevens eigenaar van de naastgelegen buitenplaats Clingendael.
N.B. De diverse 20ste eeuwse aan- en bijbouwen zijn voor bescherming van ondergeschikt belang.
Omschrijving:
Vrijstaand woonhuis op rechthoekig grondvlak bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een overstekend zadeldak met rode verbeterde Hollandse pannen met de nokrichting haaks aan de oprijlaan (noordoost-zuidwest). Met name aan kopse zijden is er een sterke overstek, die functioneert als overkapping van de daar aanwezige balkons op de verdieping. De zandsteen kleurige gevels zijn ruw gepleisterd. De entree met luifel bevindt zich aan de noordwestelijke langsgevel. Beide kopgevels hebben twee gevelopeningen op de begane grond en op de verdieping één. Laatstgenoemde gevelopening wordt gedekt door een spitsboog en is de entree naar een houten balkon. De houten balustrade heeft een opgewerkt vakwerkpatroon met andreaskruizen.
Waardering:
De dienstwoning van de historische buitenplaats Oosterbeek is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde, architectuurhistorische waarde en ensemblewaarde, - doordat het een goed voorbeeld is van een door leden van de familie tuinarchitecten Zocher ontworpen tuinmanswoning uit het midden van de 19de eeuw, die in aansluiting op het eclecticisme, elementen van de Chaletstijl vertoont. - door de ruimtelijke en functionele relatie met de overige complexonderdelen van de buitenplaats, die eveneens ontworpen is door leden van de familie Zocher. - doordat het qua hoofdvorm en materiaalgebruik redelijk gaaf en herkenbaar element is van de buitenplaats. - doordat het door de situering aan het einde van de oprijlaan (tegenover het voormalige buitenhuis), een bijzondere positie in de parkaanleg inneemt.

Component 2 Gardener's Lodge:
Former GARDENER'S LODGE from the middle of the 19th century in a sober eclectic style is located at the end of the drive, to the northwest of a watercourse. Opposite (to the southwest) lay the country house. Among other things the balcony and the strong roof overhang give the whole a chalet-like appearance. The gardener's lodge is probably a design by J.D. Zocher jr. and his son L.P. Zocher, who in the period 1839-1854 completed the laying out of the landscape park on commission of the then owner, Arnout Willem Baron van Brienen van de Groote Lindt. Description:
Detached dwelling house on rectangular ground plan consists of one storey beneath an overhanging gabled roof with red improved Dutch tiles with the ridge direction perpendicular to the drive (northeast-southwest). Particularly at the end sides there is a strong overhang, which functions as a canopy for the balconies present there on the upper floor. The sandstone-coloured facades are rough-plastered. The entrance with canopy is located on the northwestern long facade. Both end gables have two facade openings on the ground floor and on the upper floor one. The latter facade opening is covered by a pointed arch and is the entrance to a wooden balcony. The wooden balustrade has an worked-up timber-framing pattern with St. Andrew's crosses.
Valuation:
The service dwelling of the historic country estate Oosterbeek is of general importance because of its cultural-historical value, architectural-historical value and ensemble value, - because it is a good example of a gardener's lodge from the middle of the 19th century designed by members of the family of landscape architects Zocher, which in conjunction with eclecticism displays elements of the Chalet style. - because of the spatial and functional relationship with the other complex components of the country estate, which was also designed by members of the Zocher family. - because as regards main form and material use it is a reasonably intact and recognizable element of the country estate. - because due to its location at the end of the drive (opposite the former country house), it occupies a special position in the park layout.
