Inleiding
MOLENGEBOUW (of Bühlermolen), onderdeel uitmakend van het complex meelfabriek 'De Sleutels', gebouwd in 1947 is uitgevoerd in een aan onder meer het Nieuwe Bouwen ontleende bouwstijl en vertoont architectonische gelijkenis met het riffellokaal (1937) waarmee het met de zuidelijke eindgevel is verbonden. Het gebouw vormt mede de westelijke begrenzing van de fabrieksstraat en ligt ten opzichte van de centrale as van beide gebouwen iets westelijker. Het molengebouw bezit een rechthoekig grondplan met een annex aan de noordwestzijde (trappenhuis).
Omschrijving
Het gebouw is begane gronds in rode baksteen en boven, gescheiden door een omlopende waterlijst, in gele baksteen (noords verband) opgetrokken. De gevels van het zeven bouwlagen tellende fabriekspand worden ingenomen door door stalen roeden ingedeelde lintvensters gevat tussen uitkragende vensterdorpeltegels en kunststenen latei. De vensters bevatten geschakelde kantelraampjes en hijsluikopeningen. De oost- en westzijde is nagenoeg aan elkaar identiek
De noordelijke eindgevel bevat alleen in de vier bovenste bouwlagen op elke verdieping een lintvenster. Het uitgebouwde trappenhuis bevat aan de blind-uitgevoerde noord- en zuidzijde siermetselwerk in ruitenpatroon. Description
The building is constructed at ground level in red brick and above, separated by a running drip moulding, in yellow brick (English bond) laid up. The windows contain linked pivot casements and hoist opening hatches. The east and west sides are nearly identical to each other.
