Inleiding
De houten SCHUUR, behorende tot het boerderijcomplex aan de westzijde van de Rijsdijk te Rhoon, is een voorbeeld van een boerenschuur in Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant. De schuur is circa 1900 gebouwd. De schuur is gesitueerd in de noordwestelijke hoek van het erf, op circa 7 meter afstand van de Vlaamse schuur. Aan de achterzijde is onder een geknikt lessenaarsdak een aanbouw gerealiseerd. In de jaren 1990 is de schuur middels een houten schutting verbonden met de Vlaamse schuur.
Omschrijving
De schuur heeft een L-vormige plattegrond met één bouwlaag onder een aan de dijk evenwijdig zadeldak, gedekt met gesmoorde tuile du Nord. Aan de achterzijde is een aanbouw gerealiseerd onder een lessenaarsdak. In het oostelijke dakschild is een dakluik opgenomen met een lessenaarsdak. De wanden van de schuur zijn gepotdekseld. In de gevels zijn segmentboogvormige gietijzeren vensters aangebracht. In de vensters is een ingeschreven rechthoek geplaatst.
In de symmetrische voorgevel (oostzijde) staat onder de dakkapel een houten deur. In de asymmetrische achtergevel is in het teruggelegen deel een venster geplaatst. In de bouwvallige aanbouw zijn enkele openingen met gaas toegedekt. De linker zijgevel heeft in het midden een venster en in de top van de gevel een houten luik met bovenlicht. In de rechter zijgevel staan twee vensters en in de top van de gevel bevindt zich een houten luik met bovenlicht.

De houten schuur is van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde.

The wooden BARN, belonging to the farmyard complex on the west side of the Rijsdijk at Rhoon, is an example of a farmer's barn in Craft-traditional building style. The barn was built circa 1900. The barn is situated in the north-western corner of the yard, at approximately 7 metres distance from the Flemish barn. On the rear side an extension has been realised under a broken lean-to roof. In the 1990s the barn was connected to the Flemish barn by means of a wooden fence.

The barn has an L-shaped floor plan with one storey under a gabled roof parallel to the dyke, covered with dampened tuile du Nord. On the rear side an extension has been realised under a lean-to roof. In the eastern roof slope a roof light is incorporated with a lean-to roof. The walls of the barn are clay-rendered. Segmental arched cast-iron windows are installed in the gables. In the windows an inscribed rectangle is placed.
In the symmetrical front gable (east side) a wooden door stands under the roof dormer. In the asymmetrical rear gable a window is placed in the recessed part. In the dilapidated extension several openings are covered with gauze. The left side gable has in the middle a window and in the apex of the gable a wooden shutter with fanlight.
