Inleiding
Aaneengeschakelde reeks van kleine FABRIEKSGEBOUWEN. Het middendeel is gebouwd als schoenenfabriek voor C.G. van der Heijden, circa 1860 in een eenvoudige bouwstijl. Aan de zuidzijde in circa 1905 uitgebreid met een machinekamer en schoorsteen en een STOOMSCHOENENFABRIEK. Aan de noordkant een productiehal.
Omschrijving
Anderhalflaags langgerekt pand onder zadeldak waarvan de nok evenwijdig aan de straat loopt. Uitgevoerd in handgevormde, witgeschilderde baksteen. Het dak is gedekt met oud-Hollandse pannen en voorzien van windveren. De voorgevel telt dertien vensterassen. Ongeveer in het midden is een kleine gemetselde topgevel met windveren en makelaar aangebracht. Hierin bevindt zich een zesruits raam. De rest van de gevel heeft rechthoekige ramen en enkele deuren op de begane grond. Daarboven zijn halfronde raampjes met metalen kozijnen en een hijsluik aangebracht.
Links van deze bouwmassa zijn een éénlaags bakstenen woonhuis en een hogere (anderhalflaagse) productiehal aangebouwd. Het woonhuis onder zadeldak springt iets naar voren ten opzichte van het rechtse ervan gelegen bedrijfspand. In de voorgevel zijn een deur en zesruits ramen aangebracht.
De productiehal heeft een mansardedak, gedekt met kruispannen. De gevel aan de straatkant is blind, de linkerzijgevel heeft in de top twee getoogde ramen. Op de begane grond is een later aangebrachte poort. In een uitgespaarde hoek tussen het huis en deze hal staat, achter de voorgevel, een ingekorte ronde bakstenen schoorsteen.
Waardering
Het pand is van algemeen belang. Het pand is van cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische en typologische ontwikkeling van de schoenenindustrie in de Langstraat. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de traditionalistische vormgeving. Het is een zeldzaam bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van industriële bebouwing op de opstrekkende percelen in de kom van Waalwijk.

Description
One-and-a-half storey elongated building under a gabled roof with the ridge running parallel to the street. Executed in hand-formed, whitewashed brick. The roof is covered with old-Dutch tiles and fitted with wind vanes. The front facade has thirteen window bays. Approximately in the middle a small brick gable with wind vanes and tie-stone is installed. Within this is a six-pane window. The rest of the facade has rectangular windows and a few doors on the ground floor. Above these are semicircular windows with metal frames and a hoist opening.
To the left of this building mass a one-storey brick dwelling and a taller (one-and-a-half storey) production hall are annexed. The dwelling under a gabled roof projects slightly forward compared to the business premises to its right. In the front facade a door and six-pane windows are installed.
The production hall has a mansard roof, covered with Flemish bond tiles. The facade facing the street is blind, the left side facade has two arched windows at the top. On the ground floor a later inserted gate. In a recessed corner between the house and this hall stands, behind the front facade, a shortened round brick chimney.

The building is of general importance. The building is of cultural-historical importance as an expression of the socio-economic and typological development of the shoe industry in the Langstraat. It has architectural-historical importance because of its traditionalist design. It is a rarely preserved example of industrial construction on the elongated plots in the centre of Waalwijk.
