Inleiding
Lourdesgrot, geplaatst achter de kerk, behorende bij het complex van het voormalige CARMELIETENKLOOSTER H. Theresia van Liseux, in een mengeling van rationalistische en neogotische stijlvormen, in 1925-1927 gerealiseerd als eerste aanzet van een nooit voltooid groter geheel, naar ontwerp van Phil. Donders. Het complex bestaat verder uit het kloostergebouw annex noviciaat (I), de aanvankelijk rectorale openbare kloosterkerk met klokkentoren (II) en het H. Hartbeeld (IV).
Omschrijving
Uit gepleisterde en gecementeerde bak- en breukstenen opgetrokken imitatie van de grot te Lourdes, waar de wonderbare verschijningen van Maria aan Bernadette Soubirous plaatsvonden. De grot ligt achter het voormalige paterskoor van de Theresiakerk en heeft in een nis een wit en blauw geschilderde kopie van het Bernadettebeeld. In de grote altaarnis een altaartombe met de initiaal M en een opbouw met kaarsenbanken en een kruis.

De Lourdesgrot is van algemeen belang. Introduction
Lourdes grotto, placed behind the church, belonging to the complex of the former CARMELITE CONVENT H. Theresia van Liseux, in a mixture of rationalist and neogothic style forms, realized in 1925-1927 as a first stage of a larger whole never completed, designed by Phil. Donders. The complex further consists of the convent building including novitiate (I), the originally rectoral public convent church with bell tower (II) and the Sacred Heart statue (IV).
Description
An imitation of the grotto at Lourdes, constructed of plastered and cemented brick and rubble stone, where the miraculous appearances of Mary to Bernadette Soubirous took place. The grotto lies behind the former choir of the Theresia church and has in a niche a white and blue painted copy of the Bernadette statue. In the large altar niche an altar tomb with the initial M and a structure with candle stands and a cross.
