Inleiding

Description
Introduction
The T-FARMHOUSE was built in or around 1885 in eclecticist style. In 1957 the six semicircular stable windows were replaced by six-light examples.
Description
The farmhouse has a T-shaped ground plan with a two-storey residential section and a single-storey combined stable-residential section to the rear. The facades are constructed of machine-made brick. On the transverse two-storey section lies a hipped roof covered with black cross tiles, behind it a gabled roof with thatched old-Dutch tiles. Finally a half-hipped roof with thatch.
The two-storey section has five bays. The plinth, the stoep and the sills are of hardstone. The T-windows and the centrally placed panelled wing doors are provided with a profiled stucco surround with quarter-round inswing in the upper corners, hood moulding and rosettes. The fanlights of door and windows are provided with painted glass-in-lead imitation. The door calf has a carved shell-edge. On either side of the door and at the corners of the house stand wall brackets, wrought-iron decorative railings with cast-iron rosettes.
Beneath the profiled and carved gutter moulding is a plastered frieze. This is provided with rectangular panels and worked scroll brackets.
On both ridges of the roof stands an octagonal brick chimney. The side gables have a plastered plinth and a dentil course under the gutter. Left and right there is a T-window with stucco profiling as on the front facade. On the left a single-storey small extension with door under a flat roof has been added. The perpendicular attached section contains four- and six-light sash windows on both sides and is partly cellaried. On the north and west gable furthermore three six-light concrete stable windows. On the left this section is extended under a lean-to roof. Internally, in the front house among other things is a central corridor with stucco ceiling, marble floor and fine, original doors.
The front courtyard is closed off by two gates. There is an opening iron gate with arrow points for the main entrance and a much wider opening gate with the same decorative motif between the farmhouse and bakehouse (component II).
