Omschrijving onderdeel 7: URN
Aan de rand van een wandelpad even terzijde van de westgrens van het grasveld voor het hoofdgebouw gesitueerde monumentale hardstenen urn op brede voetplaat, 'de urn van de kolonel' genaamd (naar Lucas W.P. baron van der Borch (1738-1820). De urn, die uit circa 1800 dateert, is uitgevoerd in sobere Lodewijk XVI-stijl en stond oorspronkelijk in een westhoek van de parkaanleg. In verband met vandalisme werd de urn in het begin van de jaren '90 van de 20ste eeuw naar de huidige plek getransporteerd. De urn vertoont grote stilistische overeenkomst met de vier diskusvormige vazen voor het huis (zie onderdeel 4).
WAARDERING
De URN is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de beeldbepalende en ensemblewaarde;
- vanwege de ornamentele waarde;

Description component 7: URN
A monumental sandstone urn on a broad base situated on the edge of a walking path slightly to the side of the western boundary of the lawn in front of the main building, called 'the colonel's urn' (named after Lucas W.P. baron van der Borch (1738-1820). The urn, which dates from circa 1800, is executed in sober Louis XVI style and originally stood in a western corner of the park layout. Due to vandalism, the urn was transported to its present location in the early 1990s. The urn shows great stylistic resemblance to the four disk-shaped vases in front of the house (see component 4).
VALUATION
The URN is of general cultural-historical importance:
- due to its age;
- due to its visual-determining and ensemble value;
- due to its ornamental value;
- as a rare example of an ensemble presumably made for the country estate, which remains on this country estate to the present day;
- as a good example of a garden vase in late Louis XVI style.
