Inleiding.
Enkelsporige brug over de Aa. Gebouwd in opdracht van de Noord-Brabantsch-Duitsche Spoorweg Maatschappij, omstreeks 1875. De brug maakte deel uit van de treinverbinding tussen Duitsland en Rotterdam en liep onder meer via Veghel naar Goch.
Omschrijving.
De balkbrug bestaat uit samengestelde doorgaande ijzeren liggers met geklonken vollewandliggers. De liggers rusten op de rechthoekige landhoofden en een langwerpige pijler met afgeronde uiteinden in het midden van het water. De landhoofden en pijler zijn uitgevoerd in handgevormde baksteen. De landhoofden hebben betonnen lijsten, de pijler in het midden is voorzien van natuurstenen geprofileerde afdekplaten. Over de brug is een enkel spoor aangelegd.
Waardering.
De brug is van algemeen belang. Zij heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een typologische en economische ontwikkeling, namelijk de ontsluiting van Noord-Brabant en de ontwikkeling van spoorverbindingen tussen Rotterdam en het Duitse achterland. Zij maakt deel uit van het Noord-Brabantse tracé in de lijn Rotterdam-Wesel, het deel waar de brug ligt is nog steeds in gebruik. Zij heeft industrieel-archeologische waarde wegens vormgeving en materiaalgebruik.

Single-track bridge over the Aa. Built on behalf of the Noord-Brabantsch-Duitsche Spoorweg Maatschappij, around 1875. The bridge was part of the rail connection between Germany and Rotterdam and ran amongst others via Veghel to Goch.
Description.
The beam bridge consists of composite through iron girders with riveted solid-web girders. The girders rest on the rectangular abutments and an elongated pier with rounded ends in the middle of the water. The abutments and pier are executed in hand-formed brick. The abutments have concrete lists, the central pier is provided with natural stone profiled coping plates. A single track is laid over the bridge.
Valuation.
The bridge is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of a typological and economic development, namely the opening up of Noord-Brabant and the development of rail connections between Rotterdam and the German hinterland. It forms part of the Noord-Brabant route in the Rotterdam-Wesel line, the section where the bridge is located is still in use. It has industrial-archaeological value because of its design and material use.
