Inleiding.
Eerste GRAFMONUMENT in de hoek van centrale as en cirkel, linksom gaand. Het graf is uitgevoerd in hardsteen, in Neo-Gotische stijl. Het werd opgericht in 1885 voor mevrouw Commandeur-van Liempt.
Omschrijving.
Vierkante toren, op een eveneens vierkante rechte voet, omgeven door een smeedijzeren hek. Vierkante toren, opgebouwd uit drie geledingen, bekroond door een hoge achtkantige spits. De eerste geleding is vlak. De tweede geleding is iets smaller. De vlakken hebben geprofileerde lijsten en zijn voorzien van hoeklisenen. Deze lisenen gaan bij de derde geleding over in pinakels die met luchtbogen verbonden zijn met de middentoren. De vlakken zijn versierd met geprofileerde lijsten, onder meer met driepassen. Lisenen en luchtbogen worden bekroond door torenspitsen met hogeltjes. Op de tweede geleding, aan de voorzijde van het grafmonument is in een gotische vierpas een nis met inscriptie: "HET/ MEDELIJDEN/ WAS VAN HAAR/ KINDSCHHEID MET/ HAAR OPGEGROEID/ JOB. XXXI.10". De derde geleding is voorzien van overhoekse steunberen, bekroond door pinakels. Daartussen zijn spitsboognissen onder wimbergen aangebracht. In de vlakken is onder meer een kruis in gotische vierpas met witte plaquette in een spitsboogveld met neogotische traceringen (maaswerk). Inscriptie op de plaquette: "VROUWE/ ANNA MACHTILDIS/ VAN LIEMPT/ WEDUWE VAN DE/ WELED. Z. G. HEER/ J. COMMANDEUR/ + TE VEGHEL/ 19 AUG. 1885/ OUD 100 JAREN/ MIN 100 DAGEN/ RIP". Aan de rechterkant van het monument is op de onderste rand van de tweede geleding de inscriptie J.BOLSIUS BLSC CONC ET FEC. gezet. Daarboven in een nis "HARE/ GEDACHTENIS/ BLIJFT IN/ ZEGENING/ 1 MACH III.7. De derde geleding heeft aan deze zijde een driepas. Aan de achterkant is in de nis de tekst: "DE/ GANSCHE/ GEMEENTE ZAL/ HARE AALMOEZEN/ VERMELDEN/ P.S.CXXXI(of L)X.4". Links volgt nog de inscriptie: "ZIJ SPIJSDE/ DE HONGERIGE/ EN KLEEDDE DE/ NAAKTE/ job. I.20".
Waardering.
Het graf is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de manifestatie van de katholieke graf- en devotiecultuur. Het heeft architectuurhistorische en kunsthistorische waarde wegens materiaalgebruik, ornamentiek en vormgeving. First GRAVE MONUMENT in the corner of central axis and circle, going left. The grave is executed in hard stone, in Neo-Gothic style. It was erected in 1885 for Mrs. Commandeur-van Liempt.
Description.
Square tower, on an equally square straight base, surrounded by a wrought iron fence. Square tower, composed of three storeys, crowned by a high octagonal spire. The first storey is flat. The second storey is slightly narrower. The surfaces have moulded frames and are provided with corner pilasters. These pilasters transition in the third storey into pinnacles that are connected to the centre tower with flying buttresses. The surfaces are decorated with moulded frames, including trefoils. Pilasters and flying buttresses are crowned with tower spires with crockets. On the second storey, on the front of the grave monument is in a Gothic quatrefoil a niche with inscription: "PITY/ HAD BEEN/ WITH HER/ SINCE/ HER CHILDHOOD/ JOB. XXXI.10". The third storey is provided with diagonal buttresses, crowned by pinnacles. Between them pointed-arch niches under canopies have been placed. In the surfaces is among other things a cross in Gothic quatrefoil with white plaque in a pointed-arch field with neo-Gothic tracery (maaswerk). Inscription on the plaque: "LADY/ ANNA MACHTILDIS/ VAN LIEMPT/ WIDOW OF THE/ WELBORN MR./ J. COMMANDEUR/ + IN VEGHEL/ 19 AUG. 1885/ AGED 100 YEARS/ MINUS 100 DAYS/ RIP". On the right side of the monument is on the lower edge of the second storey the inscription J.BOLSIUS BLSC CONC ET FEC. set. Above it in a niche "HER/ MEMORY/ REMAINS/ IN/ BLESSING/ 1 MACH III.7. The third storey has on this side a trefoil. On the rear in the niche the text: "THE/ WHOLE/ CONGREGATION SHALL/ TELL OF HER/ ALMS DEEDS/ P.S.CXXXI(or L)X.4". On the left follows the inscription: "SHE FED/ THE HUNGRY/ AND CLOTHED THE/ NAKED/ job. I.20".
Valuation.
The grave is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of a spiritual development, namely the manifestation of Catholic burial and devotional culture. It has architectural-historical and art-historical value because of material use, ornamentation and design. The grave is important because of its ensemble value, it is an essential component of the whole.
