Inleiding
Het Jugendstil woonhuis werd in 1908 gebouwd voor J. van Eijndhoven naar ontwerp van architect Jos Donders. De ingangspartij werd rond 1980 verbouwd. Het pand is in gebruik als horecagelegenheid met bovenwoning.
Omschrijving
Het tweelaagse pand met souterrain heeft een afgeplat zadeldak met de nokas loodrecht op de straat, gedekt met verbeterde zwarte Hollandse dakpannen. De gevel is met uitzondering van de hardstenen onderpui opgetrokken uit rode verblendsteen. De speklagen en de topgevel zijn gepleisterd. Links bevinden zich twee vernieuwde deuren in een portiek. In het metselwerk is hierboven een ontlastingsboog met sluitsteen aangebracht. Boven de ingang op elke etage een schuifvenster met latei en ontlastingsboog. Rechts van de ingang een getoogd kelderraam, gescheiden door een deelzuiltje dat de aanzet vormt tot een grote erker. De gevel wordt gedomineerd door deze excentrisch geplaatste segmentvormige erker over twee verdiepingen, geplaatst in een over het gehele pand lopende ondiepe rondboognis. Hierboven een vereenvoudigd ijzeren balkon met terugliggende balkondeuren met gebogen roeden en ramen rondom. In de topgevel is het jaartal "1908" opgenomen. Tussen brede kopstukken is een smeedijzeren Jugendstilhekje geplaatst. De topgevel loopt links in een vloeiende boog af tot de hoogte van de gootlijst van het belendende pand.
Waardering
Het pand is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de uitgroei en functieverandering van de bestaande straten.
