MONUMENT "Petrus Donders", uit 1933, is een ontwerp van beeldhouwer K. Lücker (Roermond). Het werd onthuld op 10 september 1933. Het monument staat opgesteld aan de westkant tussen kapel en woonhuis.
Omschrijving
Het Petrus Dondersmonument bestaat uit vier staande, in bas-reliëf gehakte, rechthoekige stenen van verschillende grootte in Franse kalksteen met hierop afbeeldingen van het leven van Peerke Donders. Rechts hiervan een staand levensgroot beeld van de zalige in priestercape. Op het monument diverse bijbelteksten. Het geheel bevindt zich op een kunststenen basement op een voet van rood/paarse handgevormde baksteen, gemetseld in kettingverband.
Waardering
Het monument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van de katholieke devotie in het zuiden van Nederland en is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de bedevaartplaatsen na 1900. Het is van kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de stijl en detaillering en als voorbeeld van het werk van de beeldhouwer Lücker. Het heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de bijzondere samenhang met kapel en beeldengroepen. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en van belang wegens de architectuurhistorische, bouwtechnische, typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid van een dergelijk complex.
