HOOFDGEBOUW (Darthuizen). Het hoofdgebouw ligt iets verhoogd en centraal in het landschapspark. De ligging is zo gekozen dat de bewoners vanaf de voor- en achterzijde optimaal zicht hebben op de door bos omzoomde weilanden rondom het huis. Het rood bakstenen huis op rechthoekige grondslag bestaat uit twee bouwlagen en een zolder onder een met riet gedekt schilddak dat aan de voor- en achterzijde iets hoger is opgetrokken; op de nokeinden twee schoorstenen. De symmetrische voorgevel telt vijf traveëen; in de middelste travee een gepaneelde toegangsdeur waarboven een halfrond bovenlicht met spaakroeden; de deur wordt geflankeerd door meerruitsvensters, waarboven halfronde, afgeplatte ontlastingsbogen met spaarveld; op de bovenverdieping vijf meerruitsvensters; ter hoogte van de zolder een halfrond venster met spaakroeden. Met uitzondering van het dakvenster zijn alle vensters voorzien van gepaneelde luiken. In de rechterzijgevel op de begane grond twee driezijdig uitgebouwde meerruitsvensters met bovenlicht en persiennes; op de verdieping centraal twee meerruitsvensters; ter hoogte van de zolder een halfrond venster met spaakroeden. In de linker zijgevel centraal een eenvoudige toegangsdeur met halfrond bovenlicht met spaakroeden; links van de deur een groot meerruitsvenster voorzien van gepaneelde luiken; rechts een klein getralied venster; op de verdieping centraal een driestrooksvenster en rechts twee kleine vensters als op de begane grond; ter hoogte van de zolder een halfrond venster met spaakroeden. Aan de achterzijde op de begane grond vier paar openslaande deuren met gepaneelde luiken en een hoge glaspartij op de middenas (oorspronkelijk een erker); op de verdieping drie paar openslaande deuren met bovenlicht en persiennes en op de middenas en uiterst rechts een meerruitsschuifvenster met persiennes. Oorspronkelijk was er over de volle breedte van het huis een balkon aangebracht, gedragen door betonnen Dorische zuilen en voorzien van een houten balustrade met gedraaide balusters. Na aankoop door de familie Den Boer in 1967 werd het balkon met drievijfde deel verkleind, zodat het sindsdien nog slechts de twee rechter traveëen siert. Op de begane grond uiterst rechts in de gevel een klein meerruitsvenster met luik; ter hoogte van de zolder twee gekoppelde meerruitsvensters. De openslaande deuren aan de achterzijde geven toegang tot een terras betegeld met decoratieve tegels uit de bouwtijd.

MAIN BUILDING (Darthuizen). The main building is situated somewhat elevated and centrally in the landscape park. The location has been chosen so that the inhabitants have optimal views from the front and rear of the meadows surrounded by woodland around the house. The red brick house on a rectangular ground plan consists of two storeys and an attic under a thatched hipped roof that is raised somewhat higher on the front and rear sides; two chimneys at the roof ridge ends. The symmetrical front façade has five bays; in the central bay a panelled entrance door above which a semicircular fanlight with spoke glazing bars; the door is flanked by multi-pane windows, above which semicircular, flattened relieving arches with spandrel; on the upper storey five multi-pane windows; at attic height a semicircular window with spoke glazing bars. With the exception of the roof window, all windows are provided with panelled shutters. In the right side façade on the ground floor two three-sided projecting multi-pane windows with fanlight and louvres; on the storey centrally two multi-pane windows; at attic height a semicircular window with spoke glazing bars. In the left side façade centrally a simple entrance door with semicircular fanlight with spoke glazing bars; to the left of the door a large multi-pane window provided with panelled shutters; to the right a small barred window; on the storey centrally a three-light window and to the right two small windows as on the ground floor; at attic height a semicircular window with spoke glazing bars. On the rear side on the ground floor four pairs of French doors with panelled shutters and a high glazed section on the central axis (originally a bay window); on the storey three pairs of French doors with fanlight and louvres and on the central axis and far right a multi-pane sash window with louvres. Originally a balcony extended across the full width of the house, supported by concrete Doric columns and provided with a wooden balustrade with turned balusters. Following purchase by the Den Boer family in 1967 the balcony was reduced by three-fifths, so that it has since adorned only the two right bays. On the ground floor far right in the façade a small multi-pane window with shutter; at attic height two coupled multi-pane windows. The French doors on the rear side provide access to a terrace paved with decorative tiles from the construction period.
