Inleiding
BOERDERIJ, van het langhuistype, stamt uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw en vertoont invloeden uit de Chaletstijl, als onderdeel van de buitenplaats Nijenrode.
De buitenplaats heeft zijn oorsprong in een 13de eeuws kasteel. Belangrijke uitbreidingen en restauraties hebben zich onder meer in de 17de eeuw voorgedaan onder Johann I Ortt, die ook de opdracht gaf voor de aanleg van een formele tuin. Vanaf 1907 was de buitenplaats in het bezit van de Amsterdamse koffiehandelaar Michiel Onnes. Hij liet het kasteel onder leiding van architect E.G. Wentinck herstellen naar een 17de eeuwse situatie en voegde enkele bijgebouwen toe. De tuinarchitecten L.A. Springer en H. Copijn waren verantwoordelijk voor de tussen 1912-1915 tot Landschappelijke tuin omgevormde aanleg met een gemengd karakter. Thans zetelt Nijenrode Universiteit voor Bedrijfskunde in het kasteel en is met de aankoop van grond in de richting van het Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal het grondgebied van de buitenplaats opnieuw vergroot.
N.B. In verband met grootscheepse wijzigingen van de boerderij onder meer in 1961, 1973 en 1986 betrekking hebbend op het interieur en het exterieur (zij- en achtergevels) zijn deze onderdelen voor de bescherming van rijkswege van ondergeschikt belang.
Omschrijving
De ver van de Straatweg af, aan een licht gekromde eigen weg gelegen boerderij met evenwijdig gelegen zomerhuis. De boerderij wordt aan de zuidzijde omsloten door het parkbos. Rechts voor en naast de boerderij bevindt zich een open weide met hoogstamboomgaard. De boerenhofstede behoorde oorspronkelijk tot de historische buitenplaats Nijenrode en is bekend als 'Hoeve Nijenrode'.
De langhuisboerderij staat met de nokrichting haaks op de Straatweg. Het pand is vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond in baksteen opgetrokken en heeft een zadeldak met niet-oorspronkelijke platenbedekking. Het voorhuis is hoger opgetrokken dan de stal. Aan de voorzijde zijn decoratief gesneden windveren en een houten topgeveldecoratie en een gevelmakelaar aangebracht. De drie assen tellende voorgevel heeft een risalerende middenas met op de verdieping een overdekt balkon. Het balkon is uitgevoerd met een gesneden balustrade dat wordt ondersteund door korbelen. In de eerste bouwlaag bevinden zich drie keperboogvormige vensters met meervoudige kozijnen, net als op de verdieping in de middenas. Aan weerszijden van het balkon bevindt zich een tweelichtvenster, eveneens met keperboogmotief.
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een langhuisboerderij uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw, vanwege de hoofdvorm en de gedetailleerde voorgevel alsmede als functioneel onderdeel van de buitenplaats Nijenrode. The country estate has its origins in a 13th century castle. Copijn were responsible for the layout transformed between 1912-1915 into a landscape garden with a mixed character. Currently Nijenrode University for Business Administration is located in the castle and with the purchase of land in the direction of the Amsterdam-Rijn Canal the territory of the country estate has been enlarged again.

Description
The farm, located far from the Straatweg on a slightly curved private road with a summer house situated alongside. The farm is enclosed on the south side by the park woodland. To the right in front of and next to the farm there is an open meadow with a high-stemmed orchard. The farmstead originally belonged to the historic country estate Nijenrode and is known as 'Hoeve Nijenrode'.
The longhouse farm stands with its ridge perpendicular to the Straatweg. The building is constructed in brick from a rectangular ground plan and has a gabled roof with non-original plate covering. The main house is constructed higher than the stable. Decoratively carved wind vanes and wooden gable decoration and a gable maker have been applied to the front. The three-bay front facade has a projecting central bay with a covered balcony on the upper storey. The balcony is executed with carved balusters that are supported by corbels.
