Inleiding.
MAUSOLEUM of familiegraf, gelegen op de begraafplaats achter de Sint-Willibrorduskerk; in 1922 opgericht door Willem, Baron van den Bogaerde van Terbrugge, Heer van Heeswijk, in een Neo-Classicistische stijl. Aan de achterzijde van het familiegraf bevinden zich vier zerken uit circa 1600. Het mausoleum wordt ook nu nog als zodanig benut.
Omschrijving.
Klein familiegraf op vierkante grondslag (circa 7 bij 7 meter) met gevels van in kettingverband gemetselde machinale baksteen en met gecementeerde pilasters. Plat dak, bekroond met een stenen kruis (inscriptie IHS) op een getrapte stenen voet. Gecementeerd fries met wapenornamentiek, overhangende gecementeerde kroonlijst met zinken goot. Opvallend zijn de op alle hoeken aangebrachte overhoekse pilasters; deze zijn niet gecanneleerd en hebben een gestileerd Dorisch kapiteel. Aan de zuidzijde bevindt zich de recht gesloten ingang met massief hardstenen deur in ijzeren gehengen. Deze wordt door twee pilasters geflankeerd. In zowel de oost- als de westgevel bevinden zich twee kleine rechthoekige vensteropeningen met hardstenen onderdorpels. Verder zijn er in elk van deze gevels twee kleine ventilatie-openingen aangebracht. Aan de gevels zijn verschillende stenen wapens en tekstplaquettes bevestigd. Boven de ingang bevindt zich een wapensteen met twee wildemannen op "ex arbore fructus" en daaronder "fortitudine iuncta fidelitas". Een wapen met drie kepers waarop drie eiken en op de middelste keper een maan met daarin een klein wapentje met staande figuur en twee schildjes. In het fries bevinden zich drie wapens: links een leeuw, in het midden een staande figuur met twee wapens en drie hoorns, rechts een leeuw. Intern bevinden zich tegen de noordwand de twintig noord-zuid geplaatste, licht getoogde, nissen voor de kisten van de overledenen. Het geheel is overwelfd met stenen troggewelfjes met ijzeren banden aan de onderzijde. De vloer is betegeld.
Waardering.
Het mausoleum/familiegraf is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde die het heeft als bijzondere uitdrukking van een bestuurlijke en historische ontwikkeling; tevens is er sprake van een historische samenhang met het door de overledenen bewoonde kasteel Heeswijk. Het mausoleum/familiegraf heeft architectuurhistorische waarden vanwege de gebruikte Neo-Classicistische stijl en pilasterornamentiek en vanwege de hoogwaardige kunsthistorische kwaliteit van de wapenschilden. Het mausoleum/familiegraf is gaaf bewaard gebleven. Het mausoleum/familiegraf is van belang vanwege de typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid.

MAUSOLEUM or family grave, located on the burial ground behind the Sint-Willibrorduskerk; established in 1922 by Willem, Baron van den Bogaerde van Terbrugge, Lord of Heeswijk, in a Neo-Classical style. At the rear of the family grave are four gravestones from circa 1600. The mausoleum continues to be used as such today.
Description.
Small family grave on square ground plan (approximately 7 by 7 metres) with walls of machine-made brick laid in running bond and with cemented pilasters. Flat roof, crowned with a stone cross (inscription IHS) on a stepped stone base. Cemented frieze with heraldic ornament, overhanging cemented cornice with zinc gutter. Noteworthy are the diagonal pilasters placed at all corners; these are not fluted and have a stylised Doric capital. On the south side is the straight-closed entrance with solid sandstone door in iron hinges. This is flanked by two pilasters. In both the east and west walls are two small rectangular window openings with sandstone lintels. There are also two small ventilation openings in each of these walls. Various stone coats of arms and text plaques are attached to the walls. Above the entrance is a coat of arms stone with two wild men on "ex arbore fructus" and below it "fortitudine iuncta fidelitas". A coat of arms with three bars on which three oaks and on the middle bar a moon with in it a small coat of arms with standing figure and two shields. In the frieze are three coats of arms: on the left a lion, in the middle a standing figure with two coats of arms and three horns, on the right a lion. Internally, against the north wall are twenty north-south placed, slightly arched, niches for the coffins of the deceased. The whole is vaulted with stone barrel vaults with iron bands on the underside. The floor is tiled.

The mausoleum/family grave is of general interest because of the cultural-historical value it has as a particular expression of an administrative and historical development; there is also a historical connection with the castle Heeswijk, inhabited by the deceased.
