Omschrijving
Het complex van neogotische en moderne abdijgebouwen is gebouwd naast en tegen het voormalige SLOTJE of SPEELHUIS van de abt van Heeswijk/Berne, vermoedelijk oorspronkelijk een jachtslot van de hertog van Brabant, dat in 1546 werd verbouwd en voorzien van een nog bestaande topgevel en vensterbogen, aan de zuidzijde een trapgevel. Aan de voorgevel een gevelsteen met het jaarcijfer 1546, waarboven C V M (abt Coenraad van Malsen) en dienst abtswapen.

Het SLOTJE is van algemeen belang vanwege

Description
The complex of neo-gothic and modern abbey buildings was built beside and against the former SMALL CASTLE or SUMMER HOUSE of the abbot of Heeswijk/Berne, presumably originally a hunting lodge of the Duke of Brabant, which was remodeled in 1546 and provided with an existing spout gable and window arches, on the south side a stepped gable. On the front facade a stone tablet with the date 1546, above which C V M (abbot Coenraad van Malsen) and his coat of arms as abbot.
