Inleiding
Het mausoleum van de familie Van de Winkel-Höppener is aan het einde van de centrale middenlaan op het kerkhof gesitueerd. Datering XXa. De familie Van de Winkel-Höppener heeft o.a. burgemeesters van Roermond voortgebracht. Het grafmonument bevat klassieke elementen.
Omschrijving
Het mausoleum van de familie Van de Winkel-Höppener bestaat uit een grafmonument met daaromheen een tegelvloer met hekwerk. Het grafmonument bestaat uit een natuurstenen sokkel met daarop een marmeren plaat met inscriptie. Op de sokkel een wit zandstenen beeld van een treurende engel voor een grafkruis en algemeen belang wegens de cultuurhistorische en typologische met op de voorgrond een palmtak. Rond het monument een rechthoekig vloertje bekleedt met kleine grijze tegels. Vooraan in dit vloertje een luik naar de grafkelder. Rond dit vloertje een hekwerk bestaande uit 8 natuurstenen kolommen verbonden met een ketting.
Waardering
Het grafmonument bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een geestelijke ontwikkeling in de grafcultuur voor voorname katholieke families. Het grafmonument is tevens van belang als typologische ontwikkeling van grafmonumenten voor de sociale bovenklasse. Het grafmonument bezit architectuurhistorische waarde wegens esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp, het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. On the plinth a white sandstone image of a mourning angel before a grave cross and a palm branch in the foreground. Around the monument a rectangular floor tiled with small grey tiles. In front of this floor a hatch to the grave vault. Around this floor grillwork consisting of 8 natural stone columns connected with a chain.
