Inleiding
GEDENKPAAL uit 1863, als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats 'Het Plantagehuis'. De buitenplaats heeft zijn oorsprong als heerlijkheid 'Vreeland', die terug gaat tot in de 18de eeuw. In 1908 werd door de Amsterdamse koopman G.H. Hooft van Vreeland opdracht gegeven tot de bouw van het hoofdhuis in moorse stijl temidden van een landschappelijk aangelegd park.
Omschrijving
De gedenkpaal, aan het begin van de Breedelaan, voorheen Jubileumlaan geheten, bestaat uit een rechthoekige zandstenen zuil met afgeschuinde hoeken op een licht uitkragende voet. Aan de voor- en achterzijde is in hoog relief de tekst aangebracht "JUBILEUM 1813-1863" en een takje met bladeren en bessen.
Waardering
De gedenkpaal uit 1863 is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als herinnering aan het 50-jarig jubileum van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden na de Franse tijd. Voorts heeft het ensemblewaarde in samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen.

COMMEMORATIVE STONE from 1863, as part of the historical country estate 'Het Plantagehuis'. The country estate has its origins as the lordship 'Vreeland', which dates back to the 18th century. In 1908, the Amsterdam merchant G.H. Hooft van Vreeland commissioned the construction of the main house in Moorish style in the middle of a landscaped park.
Description
The commemorative stone, at the beginning of the Breedelaan, formerly called Jubileumlaan, consists of a rectangular sandstone column with chamfered corners on a slightly corbelled base. On the front and rear side is carved in high relief the text "JUBILEE 1813-1863" and a sprig with leaves and berries.
Valuation
The commemorative stone from 1863 is of general interest because of its cultural historical value as a memorial to the 50th anniversary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands after the French period. Furthermore, it has ensemble value in coherence with the other complex components.
