Inleiding.
KOETSHUIS bij de in de vormen van het Eclecticisme opgetrokken villa Hoogenhuizen, gelegen in een landschappelijk aangelegde en omgrachte tuin met oud geboomte nabij de beschermde boerderij no. 10. Het koetshuis dateert uit 1889 en is wat later in dezelfde trant naar rechts uitgebreid.
Omschrijving.
Eenlaags koetshuis uit bruinrode, gele en gesmoorde baksteen, onder zadeldak en plat dak. In de voorgevel drie inrijpoorten met dubbele diagonaal opgeklampte deuren met sierlijk gesmede scharnieren onder segmentbogen met aanzetstenen en siermetselwerk in gele baksteen. In de zij- en achtergevels zesruits schuiframen en een getoogde ingang met opgeklampte deur.
Het dak heeft tuile du nord-pannen en gesneden windveren.
Inwendig muren in schoon metselwerk en dito troggewelfjes op ijzeren profielen. Aan de achterzijde paardenstal met tegelwand als restant van de ruif. Op zolder een plavuizenvloer. In het koetsierskamertje een muurschildering met Maria en kind door de hier korte tijd woonachtige kerkschilder Jan Dijker.
Waardering.
Het koetshuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en landschappelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk het stichten van buitenplaatsen nabij een industriestad. Het gebouw heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege het bijzondere materiaalgebruik. Het heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met de omliggende groenvoorzieningen. Het gebouw is gaaf bewaard gebleven.
