Omschrijving
Broothuys. Om nog onverklaarde reden "Broodhuys" geheten herenhuis met grachtje eromheen; in hoofdvorm XVIIe eeuws (er is een steen met jaartal 1673 geweest), oudtijds woning van de schout, later N.H. pastorie, rond 1830 nonnenklooster, later een tijdlang leerlooierij. Huis van vijf traveeën met verdieping, dwars zadeldak tussen topgevels en met middengang en ingang. Schuiframen met kleine roedenverdeling uit omstreeks 1800, aan de achterkant een hijsluik boven, uit de tijd dat het gebouw leerlooierij was, uit welke periode ook het rechtse bijgebouw zal dagtekenen; het andere, linkse, aanvankelijk koetshuis, is daarentegen oorspronkelijk. Een dakruitertje met klok is overgebracht naar de Rozephoeve bij Oisterwijk. Op de haardbalk van de schouw in de keuken in reliëf een weegschaal en het opschrift: HOB FAC ET VIVES (doet dit en gij zult leven).

Description
Broothuys. For reasons still unexplained called "Broodhuys", a manor house with a small moat around it; in main form 17th-century (there was once a stone with the date 1673), formerly the residence of the bailiff, later a Dutch Reformed parsonage, around 1830 a convent, later for a time a tannery. House of five bays with storey, transverse gabled roof between gable ends and with central passage and entrance. Sash windows with small glazing bars from around 1800, on the rear side a hoist window above, from the time when the building was a tannery, from which period also the right outbuilding will date; the other, left one, originally a coach house, is by contrast original. A small roof turret with bell was moved to the Rozephoeve near Oisterwijk. On the mantelpiece of the fireplace in the kitchen in relief a weighing scale and the inscription: HOB FAC ET VIVES (do this and you shall live).
