Inleiding
LANDHUIS "Haesi Ager" met twee ingangspoorten, gebouwd in het derde kwart van de negentiende eeuw in eclectische vormen. Het door een grote tuin (deze valt buiten de van rijkswege geldende bescherming) omgeven pand, is gelegen aan de oostelijke zijde van de hoofdstraat van het dorp.
Omschrijving
Deels onderkelderd landhuis van twee bouwlagen op rechthoekige/kruisvormige grondslag met gevels in schoon metselwerk, gemetseld in kruisverband, onder een met zink gedekt tentdak met schilden met leien in maasdekking. Het huis bestaat uit een rechthoekige tweelaags hoofdmassa van vier traveeën en heeft aan de noordzijde een gedeelte van één bouwlaag onder twee zadeldaken. Aan de oostzijde bevindt zich de langgerekte éénlaags bijkeuken onder een met pannen gedekt zadeldak.
Het gebouw heeft een omlopende gecementeerde plint. De gevelopeningen hebben afgeronde bovenhoeken en natuurstenen hoek- en kuifversieringen aan de bovenliggende bogen. De vensters zijn alle voorzien van T-ramen. Aan de straatzijde (westzijde) bevindt zich over de twee centrale traveeën een kleine veranda op ranke gietijzeren zuiltjes met gotiserend ajourwerk van hout in de bogen. De veranda heeft twee openslaande glasdeuren. Boven de veranda bevindt zich een balkon met ijzeren hekwerk tussen de penanten. De verdiepingen worden van elkaar gescheiden door een geprofileerde cordonlijst. Gecementeerd fries met in reliëf aangebrachte casementen. Kroonlijst op onder meer met mascarons geornamenteerde voluutvormige consoles. In het dakschild aan de straatzijde bevindt zich een kleine dakkapel met een geprofileerde rondboogbekroning.
De hoofdingang van het huis bevindt zich aan de oostzijde en is inpandig geplaatst in een portiek. Dubbele paneeldeur met gietijzeren roosters. Aan de noordzijde van het huis bevindt zich de ingang van het vroegere notariskantoor in het gedeelte met een dubbele trappgevel onder twee zadeldaken met leien in maasdekking. In de oostelijke gevel van dit gedeelte bevindt zich een venster van groot formaat met een enkelvoudig schuifraam. Dit venster diende voor een optimale lichttoetreding van de voormalige kantoorruimte.
Van de haaks op de hoofdmassa staande bijkeuken is het eerste gedeelte van de kap gedeeltelijk gewijzigd en heeft daar nu een plat dak en vernieuwd muurwerk.
Het pand is aan de oostzijde voorzien van een dubbele kelder met stenen troggewelfjes en wijnrekken. Op de begane grond wordt de hoofdmassa in tweeën gedeeld door een brede, met zwarte en witte plavuizen betegelde, gang. Aan de westelijke zijde bevinden zich twee grote kamers en suite met onder meer geornamenteerde stucplafonds, vensterbanken en luiken. Aan de oostelijke zijde bevinden zich nog een zitkamer en de grote keuken met onder meer een rookkast. De kamers van het voormalige notariskantoor bevinden zich aan de noordzijde.
Op de verdieping is de verdeling vrijwel identiek aan die op de begane grond, al is de centrale gang nu, evenals de belendende slaapkamers, voorzien van een planken vloer. In tegenstelling tot de vertrekken op de begane grond zijn de slaapkamers slechts spaarzaam geornamenteerd.
Het pand wordt aan alle zijden omgeven door een ruime tuin met hoge beplanting. Aan de straatzijde bevinden zich twee ingangspoorten, elk met blokvormig gemetselde bakstenen penanten met een smeedijzeren hekwerk met pijlpunten. De zuidelijke poort heeft op elk van de penanten een klein hardstenen plaatje met daarop de naam van de villa; HAESI AGER.
Waardering
Het landhuis met poorten is van algemeen belang. Het landhuis heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling waarbij de gegoede burgerij en de bestuurlijke elite zich in de directe nabijheid van 's-Hertogenbosch aan de uitvalswegen van de kleinere, meer landelijke, plaatsen daaromheen vestigen en daar een landhuis laten bouwen.
Het landhuis is van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de bijzondere samenhang tussen de samenstellende onderdelen, de typologische en de kunsthistorische kwaliteit van de toegepaste eclectische en stijlelementen. Het landhuis heeft ensemblewaarde vanwege de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met de wegen en groenvoorzieningen. Het landhuis is van belang vanwege de bouwtechnische en typologische zeldzaamheid die het als zodanig bezit.

COUNTRY HOUSE "Haesi Ager" with two entrance gates, built in the third quarter of the nineteenth century in eclectic forms. The property, surrounded by a large garden (which falls outside national monument protection), is located on the eastern side of the main street of the village.
Description
Partially cellared country house of two storeys on a rectangular/cross-shaped ground plan with façades in fair-faced brickwork, laid in English bond, under a tent roof covered with zinc with hipped ends with slates in Maas bond. The house consists of a rectangular two-storey main block of four bays and has on the north side a section of one storey under two gabled roofs. On the east side is located the elongated single-storey scullery under a gabled roof covered with tiles.
The building has a continuous cemented plinth. The window openings have rounded top corners and natural stone corner and cove decorations on the arches above. The windows are all provided with cross windows. On the street side (west side) above the two central bays is a small veranda on slender cast-iron columns with Gothic-style openwork woodwork in the arches. The veranda has two opening glass doors. Above the veranda is a balcony with iron railings between the pilasters. The storeys are separated from each other by a moulded string course. Cemented frieze with casements applied in relief. Cornice on volute-shaped consoles decorated with mascarons. In the hipped end on the street side is a small dormer with a moulded rounded arch coping.
The main entrance to the house is on the east side and is situated internally in a porch. Double panel door with cast-iron grilles. On the north side of the house is the entrance to the former notary's office in the section with a double stepped gable under two gabled roofs with slates in Maas bond. In the eastern façade of this section is a large-format window with a single sash window. This window served to allow optimal light entry to the former office space.
Of the scullery standing at right angles to the main block, the first section of the roof has been partly altered and now has a flat roof and renewed masonry.
The property is provided on the east side with a double cellar with stone trough vaults and wine racks. On the ground floor the main block is divided in two by a broad corridor paved with black and white tiles. On the western side are two large rooms en suite with, among other features, ornamental stucco ceilings, window seats and shutters. On the eastern side are a sitting room and the large kitchen with, among other features, a smoke hood. The rooms of the former notary's office are on the north side.
On the upper storey the division is almost identical to that on the ground floor, although the central corridor is now, as are the adjoining bedrooms, provided with a wooden floor. In contrast to the rooms on the ground floor, the bedrooms are only sparsely decorated.
The property is surrounded on all sides by an extensive garden with tall planting. On the street side are two entrance gates, each with block-shaped laid brick pilasters with wrought-iron railings with arrow points. The southern gate has on each of the pilasters a small stone tablet with the name of the villa; HAESI AGER.

The country house has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of socio-economic development whereby the prosperous middle class and the administrative elite settled in the immediate vicinity of 's-Hertogenbosch on the outskirts of the smaller, more rural, places around it and had a country house built there.
The country house is of architectural-historical importance because of the particular coherence between the constituent components, the typological and art-historical quality of the applied eclectic and stylistic elements. The country house has ensemble value because of the high quality of the building and the historic-spatial relationship with the roads and green spaces. The country house is important because of the building technical and typological rarity which it possesses as such.
