Inleiding
VILLA gelegen op de hoek van de mr P.J. Troelstraweg en de Lijsterstraat, gebouwd in 1923 in Expressionistische stijl door de bouwkundige E.A.M. Wölcken als eigen woning. Het pand heeft enkele ondergeschikte wijzigingen ondergaan. De tuin wordt omgeven door een gemetselde MUUR met een houten HEK tussen twee penanten.
Omschrijving
EXTERIEUR: VILLA op kruisvormige plattegrond, opgebouwd uit grauwbruine baksteen. De bovengedeelten van de gevels zijn met hout beschoten. De paraboolvormige kappen zijn belegd met gesmoorde, geglazuurde Hollandse pannen. De plattegrond bestaat uit twee elkaar kruisende beuken. De beuk in de lengterichting heeft een paraboolvormige kap, die aanzet ter hoogte van de tweede bouwlaag, terwijl de eveneens paraboolvormige kap van de dwarsbeuk aanzet ter hoogte van de derde bouwlaag. De kappen kruisen elkaar op gelijke hoogte. De voorgevel is voorzien van een rechthoekige erker over twee verdiepingen. Op de begane grond bevinden zich te weerszijden van de erker twee vensters, die om de hoek herhaald worden, zodat vrijwel de gehele hoek is opengebroken. De rechter zijgevel heeft een uitgebouwde schoorsteenpartij, die de paraboolkap doorbreekt en hoog boven de daklijst is voortgezet. In de rechterdwarsbeuk bevindt zich de ingang onder een met pannen belegde luifel. De deur bevat enige ornamentiek in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School. De smeedijzeren trekbel heeft een handvat in de vorm van een druiventros. Boven de deur bevinden zich de vensters, die het trappenhuis verlichten. De rechterzijgevel van deze beuk is geheel blind. De linker zijgevel bevat eveneens een rechthoekige erker over twee bouwlagen. De achtergevel is een vereenvoudigde herhaling van de andere gevels. Hier is de kap aan de linkerzijde verder naar beneden doorgetrokken en enigszins opgebogen. INTERIEUR: Van het goeddeels ongewijzigde interieur zijn te noemen de deuren met smalle glas-in-loodramen, die in de woonvertrekken opgenomen zijn in symmetrische kastenwanden, de balkenplafonds en de bordestrap over de gehele hoogte, die op de eerste steek een kastenwand heeft en gepaneelde lambriseringen. Trappalen en -hekken hebben een sobere geometrische detaillering. De slaapkamers hebben alle een kastenwand met eenvoudige ornamentiek.

VILLA met bijbehorende lage tuinmuur en hek van algemeen architectuurhistorisch en cultuurhistorisch belang:

Description
EXTERIOR: VILLA on a cruciform ground plan, constructed from greyish-brown brick. The upper parts of the facades are clad with wood. The parabolic roofs are covered with smothered, glazed Dutch tiles. The ground plan consists of two intersecting aisles. The aisle in the longitudinal direction has a parabolic roof, which starts at the level of the second storey, while the equally parabolic roof of the transverse aisle starts at the level of the third storey. The roofs intersect at the same height. The front facade is provided with a rectangular bay window spanning two storeys. On the ground floor, on either side of the bay window, there are two windows, which are repeated around the corner, so that practically the entire corner is opened up. The right side facade has a built-out chimney section, which breaks through the parabolic roof and is continued high above the roof edge. In the right transverse aisle is the entrance under a canopy covered with tiles. The door contains some ornamentation in the style of the Amsterdam School. The wrought-iron door handle has a handle in the form of a bunch of grapes. Above the door are windows which light the stairwell. The right side facade of this aisle is entirely blank. The left side facade also contains a rectangular bay window spanning two storeys. The rear facade is a simplified repetition of the other facades. Here the roof on the left side is extended further downward and slightly curved. INTERIOR: Of the largely unaltered interior, the following are notable: the doors with narrow stained-glass windows, which are incorporated in the living rooms in symmetrical cupboard walls, the beam ceilings and the staircase spanning the full height, which has a cupboard wall at the first landing and panelled wainscoting. Newel posts and railings have sober geometric detailing. The bedrooms all have a cupboard wall with simple ornamentation.
