HISTORISCHE PARKAANLEG (XIX) deels mogelijk ouder, als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats "Babberich" bestaande uit lanen (a.), waterpartijen (b.), bossen (c.) en weilanden (d.). ad a.: er zijn twee oprijlanen, die in een gebogen lijn samen komen bij de brede aarden dam, die over de noordarm van de gracht toegang geeft tot het huiseiland; de ene laan begint ten noorden van het huis aan de Beekseweg en de andere in het westen aan de Emmerichseweg; beide lanen hebben een puinverharding en zijn beplant met enkele rijen eiken; vanaf ongeveer het midden van de noordlaan loopt een lange rechte laan naar het zuidoosten; hij eindigt onder een scherpe hoek op de Emmerichseweg; de laan heeft gedeeltelijk een puinverharding en is verder onverhard; de beplanting is onregelmatig met eik en sparren. ad b.: de gracht rond het huis-cum-dienstvleugel heeft een afgerond-vierkante vorm; in de zuidoosthoek is een grote vijverachtige uitstulping naar de Emmerichseweg; de gracht staat via een sloot langs de noordelijke oprijlaan en de Beekseweg in verbinding met de grote langgerekte vijverpartij in het oosten van het complex; deze partij is waarschijnlijk ontstaan uit een oude rivierarm. ad c.: het grote wandelbos met nog herkenbare slingerpaden en veel oud loofhout ligt tussen de lange rechte laan en de grote vijverpartij ten oosten ervan; het terrein is iets geaccidenteerd; midden in het bos ligt de familiebegraafplaats (zie onder 7); een kleiner bos ligt direct ten noorden en oosten van de gracht; hierin nog een smalle waterlus vanuit de gracht; langs de westkant van de noordlaan en de zuidzijde van de westlaan loopt een smalle bosstrook, die ook nog met een aftakking de west- en zuidzijde van de kleine wei westelijk van het huis omarmt; in deze strook ligt een klein steil heuveltje. ad d.: er is een aantal weilanden, waarvan de grote voorwei (vroeger boomgaard) in landschappelijk-visuele zin het belangrijkst is: vanaf de Beekseweg is er een fraai gezicht over deze wei op het witte huis, dat opgesloten ligt tussen de coulissen van de beide oprijlanen met bosstroken; aan de oostkant van de noordlaan ligt -langs de Beekseweg- een weiland, dat vroeger ook gedeeltelijk een boomgaard was; tussen de westlaan en de Emmerichseweg ligt een smalle wei, en in de wig tussen deze weg en de rechte laan ligt een driehoekig weiland, gedeeltelijk omzoomd met een meidoornhaag, met ook hier en daar een oude fruitboom; tenslotte ligt er direct ten westen van de gracht een kleine wei, waarin de duiventoren staat (zie onder 6).

HISTORIC PARK LAYOUT (19th century) partly possibly older, as part of the historic country estate "Babberich" consisting of avenues (a.), water features (b.), woods (c.) and meadows (d.). ad a.: there are two approach avenues, which come together in a curved line at the broad earthen dam, which provides access over the north arm of the moat to the house island; one avenue begins north of the house at the Beekseweg and the other in the west at the Emmerichseweg; both avenues have a stone chippings surface and are planted with single rows of oaks; from approximately the middle of the north avenue a long straight avenue runs to the southeast; it ends at a sharp angle on the Emmerichseweg; the avenue has a partial stone chippings surface and is otherwise unpaved; the planting is irregular with oak and spruces. ad b.: the moat around the house and service wing has a rounded-square shape; in the southeast corner is a large pond-like protrusion towards the Emmerichseweg; the moat connects via a ditch along the northern approach avenue and the Beekseweg to the large elongated pond feature in the east of the complex; this feature probably originated from an old river arm. ad c.: the large wooded walk with still recognisable winding paths and much old deciduous timber lies between the long straight avenue and the large pond feature to its east; the terrain is slightly undulating; in the middle of the wood lies the family burial ground (see below under 7); a smaller wood lies directly to the north and east of the moat; in it still a narrow water loop from the moat; along the west side of the north avenue and the south side of the west avenue runs a narrow strip of wood, which also with a branch embraces the west and south side of the small meadow west of the house; in this strip lies a small steep mound. ad d.: there is a number of meadows, of which the large forecourt meadow (formerly an orchard) is the most important from a landscape-visual perspective: from the Beekseweg there is a fine view across this meadow of the white house, which lies enclosed between the wings of both approach avenues with wooded strips; on the east side of the north avenue lies - along the Beekseweg - a meadow, which was formerly also partly an orchard; between the west avenue and the Emmerichseweg lies a narrow meadow, and in the wedge between this road and the straight avenue lies a triangular meadow, partly bordered with a hawthorn hedge, with also here and there an old fruit tree; finally there lies directly to the west of the moat a small meadow, in which the dovecote stands (see below under 6).
