Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats De Oldhorst.
In aanleg en in detail gaaf bewaarde aanleg in landschapsstijl uit de eerste helft van de 19de eeuw met een enkel ouder formeel element, zoals de rechte oprijlaan en omgrachting. Het huis (onderdeel 1), dat een stuk van de weg afligt, is met de voorgevel naar het park (zuid) gekeerd en is samen met het koetshuis op een ruim omgracht vierkant terrein gesitueerd. Aan de zuidzijde voor het huis is de gracht breed uitgegraven. Het buiten is langs de zijkant van het perceel (oost) toegankelijk middels een monumentale, vier rijen brede laan van linden (eerste deel) en eiken (laatste deel). Ten zuiden van het huis ligt de landschappelijke aanleg van hoge kwaliteit die rond 1820 tot stand is gekomen en op de kadastrale minuut uit 1828 staat opgetekend. Direct achter het huis een weiland met boomgroepen (linden) en coulissewerking met rode beuken in de bosrand. Over de weide liepen oorspronkelijk verschillende zichten naar buiten toe waarbij boerderijen in de omgeving als 'point de vues' dienden (thans dicht gegroeid). Aansluitend een besloten parkbos (oude eiken, beuken en rododendron) met in het verlengde van de as op het huis een slingerende waterpartij met twee eilandjes. Rondom de vijver is een slingerende wandeling met verrassende doorkijkjes; de waterpartij, die een oneindig verloop suggereert, vormt hierbij het beeldbepalende en karakteristieke element. Langs de bosrand (op de grens weide/bos) loopt een smal kerkepad dat zich voortzet over het terrein van De Vollenhof. Ten noorden van het koetshuis (onderdeel 5) ligt een loofbos (Noorderbos) met slingerpaden, reliëf en een waterpartij (beek) die slingert door het bos, om onder een heuvel in een gemetselde gang te verdwijnen met kleine waterval. De grot (onderdeel 3) vormt een typisch 19de-eeuws romantisch element in een landschappelijke aanleg.

De HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats De Oldhorst is van algemeen belang:

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate De Oldhorst.
Well-preserved layout in landscape style from the first half of the 19th century, intact in plan and detail, with a single older formal element, such as the straight drive and moat. The house (component 1), which is set back from the road, has its front facade facing the park (south) and is situated together with the coach house on a spacious moated square plot. On the south side in front of the house the moat is dug out wide. The estate is accessible from the side of the plot (east) by means of a monumental drive four rows wide of linden trees (first section) and oaks (last section). South of the house lies the high-quality landscape layout which came into being around 1820 and is recorded on the cadastral plan of 1828. Directly behind the house a meadow with groups of trees (lindens) and coulisse effect with red beeches in the forest edge. Originally various views crossed the meadow to the outside, with farmhouses in the surroundings serving as 'points de vue' (now overgrown). Adjoining is a secluded park wood (old oaks, beeches and rhododendron) with, in the extension of the axis on the house, a winding water feature with two islets. Around the pond is a winding walk with surprising vistas; the water feature, which suggests an infinite course, forms the characteristic and defining element. Along the forest edge (on the boundary between meadow and wood) runs a narrow footpath that continues over the grounds of De Vollenhof. North of the coach house (component 5) lies a deciduous wood (Noorderbos) with winding paths, relief and a water feature (stream) that winds through the wood and disappears under a hill in a masonry passage with small waterfall. The grotto (component 3) forms a typical 19th-century romantic element in a landscape layout.
