Description of component 1. The Vollenhof (Zuiderzeestraatweg 417, indicated on the accompanying map with no. 1) Main building (The Vollenhof). A shallow, whitewashed house on a rectangular floor plan situated within a moat. The house is parallel to the access drive. Building with front facade seven bays wide, two storeys and an attic storey high, covered with a hipped roof of glazed blue tiles. The brickwork of the front facade is articulated by pilasters with worked and recessed panels. The entrance in the centre of the facade is framed with a simple doorhead. On either side of the entrance and on the upper storey, six-light sash windows with Venetian blinds. The rear facade is irregular in layout. At the level of the living room on the right, a glazed door with glazing bars (fenêtre à terre), in the centre of the facade a door leading to the rear entrance and in the left part of the facade two six-light windows. On the upper storey three similar windows. Three roof dormers. Under the stucco are traces visible of (closed) facade openings.
