Introduction.

The DWELLING of the farm complex was built in 1923 in Transitional architecture with Art Nouveau elements and has an older extension from 1917 in Artisanal-Traditional building style, which at that time served as workers' housing.

Description.

The single-storey dwelling is built of brickwork and constructed on a predominantly square plan with a two-storey risalit in the front gable. The risalit has a brick oriel with wooden balcony and decorated balustrade on the upper floor. The window and door openings have a lightly moulded sandstone lintel. The windows are provided with sash frames under fanlights with glazing bars. The front and back doors have the same fanlight. In the left part of the front gable, a brick cassette ornament with glazed tiles is applied under the eaves. The roof overhang rests on consoles. A memorial stone is placed in the front gable with the inscription: A M C VERBEEK/ 2-2-23. Against the side gable is a wooden veranda attached with windows under fanlights with glazing bars all around and a double glazed door. The oriel has a wooden balcony with decorated balustrade on the upper floor. The composite half-hipped roof is covered with asbestos shingles in staggered bond. A three-part roof dormer is installed in the front and rear slope, which is higher at the rear than at the front. In the right roof slope of the risalit on the front side is a single, arched roof dormer placed. The interior layout is unaltered and features richly detailed wooden draft-stop door with leaded-glass windows and wooden panelled doors with glazing-bar windows. Between the front and back rooms is a double wooden sliding door with leaded-glass windows. On the upper floor some original stucco work is still present.

The single-storey extension is located at the rear of the residential house and is built of brickwork and constructed on a rectangular plan. It has a plastered plinth all around. The windows and doors have a fanlight with glazing bars. The windows are provided with shutters. The roof overhang rests on consoles and the flat roof with slopes is covered with asbestos shingles in cross bond. The interior layout is unaltered.

Valuation.

The dwelling is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of agrarian development in the Interwar period. It has architectural-historical value as an example of Transitional architecture with Art Nouveau elements. It has ensemble value because of the coherence with the other complex components. It is well-preserved and rare as an example of a farm in Transitional architecture with Art Nouveau elements.
