Inleiding.
De WAGENSCHUUR uit het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw is gebouwd in Eclectische stijl. Het gebouwtje staat los van het woonhuis en de schuur en grenst aan het voorerf en de oprit. De wagenschuur is gebouwd om de wagens in onder te brengen en de paarden te stallen. Zij doet nu dienst als opslagruimte.
Omschrijving.
De eenlaags wagenschuur is gebouwd op rechthoekig grondplan en opgetrokken uit handvorm stenen. De oost- en zuidgevel hebben een gestucte vakwerkversiering. De voorgevel heeft een centrale, getoogde poort met dubbele houten deur met sierlijke ijzeren bovenlichten. In de deurpost is aan beide zijden een gipsen paardenkop aangebracht. De poort wordt aan beide zijden geflankeerd door een enkele, getoogde houten deur. In de topgevel is een getoogde houten deur aangebracht, voorafgegaan door een houten balkon met dito balustrade. De oostelijke zijgevel is voorzien van drie getoogde poorten met dubbele houten deuren met gedeelde bovenlichten en voorzien van ijzerbeslag. Tussen de poorten zijn ovale spaarvelden aangebracht, waarop voorheen paardenkoppen waren aangebracht.
De dakgoot van de oostgevel heeft een geschulpte versiering en rust op geornamenteerde klossen. In de topgevel van de achterzijde is een rondvenster met ijzeren radiaalraam aangebracht met daaronder dichtgemetselde duivenopeningen. Het zadeldak is belegd met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen.
Het interieur is in grote lijnen ongewijzigd. Het bestaat op de begane grond uit een garageruimte aan de voorzijde en een voormalige paardenstal aan de achterzijde. De voormalige graanzolder bestaat uit een open ruimte. Hier bevindt zich nog het houten hijsrad.
Waardering.
De wagenschuur van het boerderijcomplex is van algemeen belang. Zij heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als goede vertegenwoordiger van de rijke veeteeltcultuur op de kleigronden aan het eind van de negentiende eeuw. Zij heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als vertegenwoordiger van de Eclectische boerderijbouw. Zij heeft bouwhistorische waarde vanwege de toegepaste bouwmaterialen, met name de vakwerk bepleistering op de oost- en zuidgevel. The WAGON BARN from the last quarter of the nineteenth century was built in Eclectic style. The building stands separate from the dwelling house and barn and borders on the front courtyard and the driveway. The wagon barn was built to house the wagons and stable the horses. It now serves as storage space.
Description.
The single-storey wagon barn is built on a rectangular ground plan and constructed from hand-moulded bricks. The east and south facades have stuccoed half-timbered decoration. The front facade has a central arched gateway with double wooden door with ornamental iron fanlights. On both sides of the door post a plaster horse head has been applied. The gateway is flanked on both sides by a single arched wooden door. In the gable a arched wooden door has been placed, preceded by a wooden balcony with likewise balustrade. The eastern side facade is provided with three arched gateways with double wooden doors with divided fanlights and fitted with iron fittings. Between the gateways oval sparing panels have been applied, on which horse heads were previously applied.
The gutter of the east facade has sculptured decoration and rests on ornamented brackets. In the gable of the rear elevation a circular window with iron radial frame has been placed with below it sealed-up pigeon holes. The gabled roof is covered with smoked Dutch tiles.
The interior is broadly unchanged. It consists on the ground floor of a garage space at the front and a former horse stable at the rear. The former grain loft consists of an open space. Here the wooden hoist wheel is still found.
Valuation.
The wagon barn of the farmyard complex is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a good representative of the prosperous cattle-farming culture on the clay soils at the end of the nineteenth century. It has architectural-historical value as a representative of Eclectic farmyard construction. It has building-historical value because of the applied building materials, in particular the half-timbered rendering on the east and south facades. It has ensemble value because of its coherence with the other complex components. It is well preserved and rare as an example of the prosperous cattle-farming culture on the clay soils.
