Vakantiehuiscomplex "de Utrecht" onderdeel III
Inleiding.
Ter hoogte van de hoofdingang in de oostelijke gevel van het voormalige vakantiehuis Rustoord bevindt zich een FONTEIN met bassin, met elementen van neobarok en neorenaissance. Het object dateert uit omstreeks 1930 en is een schenking van de verzekeringsagenten van de maatschappij aan de directeur.
Beschrijving.
De kunststenen fontein staat in een globaal cirkelvormig bassin met breukstenen banden. De opstand rechthoekige, trapsgewijs verjongende sokkel met inspringende hoeken. De opstand verjongt zich middels een viertal op de hoeken opgestelde, gestileerde dolfijnen, die een tweetal schelpvormige bassins met guirlandes torsen. Tussen de bassins een tweetal mascarons.
Onder de oostelijke is het opschrift "Agenten der Utrecht aan W.P. Ingenegeren" gebeiteld. De fontein wordt bekroond door een putto, die de hoorn des overvloeds draagt.
Waardering.
De fontein is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van de sociaaleconomische ontwikkeling van de landbouw en recreatie in Nederland, in het bijzonder de grootschalige ontginning van woeste gronden in de 20ste eeuw. Holiday house complex "de Utrecht" component III
Introduction.
At the level of the main entrance in the eastern facade of the former holiday house Rustoord is situated a FOUNTAIN with basin, with elements of neobaroque and neorenaissance. The object dates from around 1930 and is a gift from the insurance agents of the company to the director.
Description.
The artificial stone fountain stands in a broadly circular basin with rubble-stone bands. The rectangular, stepped tapering base with indented corners. The structure tapers by means of four stylised dolphins positioned at the corners, which carry two shell-shaped basins with garlands. Between the basins two mascarons.
Under the eastern one is carved the inscription "Agents of Utrecht to W.P. Ingenegeren". The fountain is crowned by a putto carrying the cornucopia.
Valuation.
The fountain is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as an expression of the socio-economic development of agriculture and recreation in the Netherlands, in particular the large-scale reclamation of wastelands in the 20th century.
