ONDERWIJZERSWONING, nu woonhuis, gebouwd in 1914 door J.W. Hanrath in Traditionalistische stijl.
Omschrijving
Tweelaags pand onder schilddak waarvan de nok haaks op de straat staat. Het dak is gedekt met golfpannen. Het pand is uitgevoerd in baksteen en heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond waarbij tegen de rechter zijgevel een aanbouw is geplaatst. Deze aanbouw is één laag hoog met een balkon, voorzien van een opengewerkte baksteen balustrade. Aan de linkerkant is iets terugliggend ten opzichte van de voorgevel een éénlaags aanbouw onder schilddak aanwezig, hier bevindt zich de ingang van het huis.
De gevels zijn wit gesausd, in het metselwerk zijn tussen de ramen van de verdieping en die van de begane grond verdiepte vlakken, onder de goot is een sierrand aanwezig.
De ramen zijn onderverdeeld door middel van kleine roeden en op de begane grond voorzien van luiken (in de onderlichten is de roedenverdeling daar reeds verdwenen).
Waardering
De woning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van een culturele en geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de ontwikkeling van het Nutsonderwijs in het interbellum. Het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van een typologische ontwikkeling van het schoolgebouw met bijgebouwen. Architectuurhistorisch is het belangrijk vanwege de stijl, de detaillering en als voorbeeld van het werk van de architect Hanrath. Two-storey building under a hipped roof with the ridge perpendicular to the street. The roof is covered with corrugated tiles. The building is executed in brick and has a rectangular floor plan with an outbuilding placed against the right side gable. This outbuilding is one storey high with a balcony, furnished with an open-work brick balustrade. On the left side, set back slightly from the front facade, there is a one-storey outbuilding under a hipped roof, which contains the entrance to the house.
The facades are whitewashed; recessed panels are present in the brickwork between the windows of the upper floor and those of the ground floor; below the gutter there is a decorative band.
The windows are subdivided by means of small glazing bars and on the ground floor provided with shutters (in the fanlights the glazing bar subdivision has already disappeared).
