Inleiding
Aan de noordoostelijke zijde van de oude plaatse van Beugen staat een DORPSWOONHUIS, gebouwd omstreeks 1910 in Overgangsstijl met Art Nouveaumotieven. Aan de noordwestelijke zijde heeft het woonhuis een uit hetzelfde jaar daterende bedrijfsaanbouw.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaags, in oorsprong, dubbele woonhuis heeft een L-vormige plattegrond en wordt deels gedekt door een afgewolfd mansardedak, deels door een afgewolfd zadeldak met geglazuurde kruispannen. De bakstenen gevel heeft een gecementeerde plint en is horizontaal geleed door gecementeerde banden. De gevel aan de zijde van het Kerkplein is asymmetrisch van opzet en heeft aan de westelijke zijde een bakstenen, afgewolfde topgevel met, op de nok van het dak, een bekronende zinken piron, en aan de oostelijke zijde een drietal bakstenen lisenen, die tot boven de goothoogte zijn doorgetrokken als kolommen, voorzien van gemetselde strengpersstenen bekroningen. De gevel aan het Kerkplein is afwisselend voorzien van een T-schuifvenster (met geometrisch ingedeeld bovenlicht en in het onderlicht gedeeltelijk een kleine roedenverdeling) en een portiek met hardstenen trede en een paneeldeur, voorzien van een geometrisch ingedeeld bovenlicht. De westelijke gevel van het woonhuis is geleed als de zuidelijke gevel aan het Kerkplein en heeft op de begane grond twee vensterassen, en drie vensterassen op de etage. De vensters zijn dezelfde T-schuifvensters als in de zuidelijke gevel. De bedrijfsaanbouw staat aan de noordelijke zijde, haaks op het woonhuis. De gevel is in blokverband gepleisterd en heeft een tandlijst, een drietal rondbogige lichten met een ijzeren vorktracering en een tweetal vernieuwde opgeklampte inrijpoorten. In de noordelijke gevel is een opgeklampt luik naar de taszolder. Het zadeldak is afgezet met een geprofileerde gootlijst met windborden. Van belang is het deels smeedijzeren, deels gietijzeren pijlpuntenhekwerk, dat de zijtuin aan de westelijke zijde van de straat scheidt. Ook de steeg aan de oostzijde wordt door een dergelijk poortje afgesloten.

Het woonhuis Kerkplein 15 te Beugen is van algemeen belang. The originally single-storey, double dwelling house has an L-shaped floor plan and is partly covered by a half-hipped mansard roof, partly by a half-hipped saddle roof with glazed cross tiles. The brick facade has a plastered plinth and is horizontally articulated by plastered bands. The facade on the side of the Kerkplein is asymmetrical in design and has on the western side a brick, half-hipped stepped gable with, on the ridge of the roof, a crowning zinc ornament, and on the eastern side three brick pilasters, which are continued as columns above gutter height, provided with cast brick string course crownings. The facade at the Kerkplein is alternately provided with a T-sash window (with geometrically divided fanlight and in the lower light partly a small glazing bars) and a portico with stone step and a panel door, provided with a geometrically divided fanlight. The western facade of the dwelling house is articulated as the southern facade at the Kerkplein and has on the ground floor two window bays, and three window bays on the storey. The windows are the same T-sash windows as in the southern facade. The business annex stands on the northern side, at right angles to the dwelling house. The facade is plastered in flemish bond and has a dentil course, three round-arch lights with iron fork tracery and two renewed fitted-on overhead doors. In the northern facade is a fitted-on shutter to the hayloft. The saddle roof is edged with a profiled gutter moulding with wind boards. Of importance is the partly wrought-iron, partly cast-iron arrowhead railing, which separates the side garden on the western side of the street. Also the lane on the east side is closed off by such a small gate.
