Inleiding
TOEGANGSBRUG met poort behorende tot het complex bedevaartsoord van de H.H. Martelaren van Gorcum, evenals de bedevaartskerk in 1931 naar ontwerp van de Rotterdamse architect H.P.J. de Vries gebouwd in een traditionalistische trant. De toegangspoort staat in de as van de kapel en geeft toegang tot het terrein van het bedevaartscomplex.
Omschrijving
In baksteen opgetrokken toegangsbrug over de sloot langs de weg, voorzien van een poort gevormd door een spitsboogvormige doorgang, die wordt afgesloten door een ijzeren draaihek. De doorgang staat tussen gemetselde muren met vlechtingen op de versnijdingen. Het muurdeel boven de spitsboog is voorzien van decoratief metselwerk en heeft een horizontale beëindiging met ezelsrug.
De brug heeft een segmentboogvormig gewelfde onderdoorgang met rollagen en is op de borstweringen eveneens voorzien van ezelsruggen. Ook de iets hoger opgaande, korte dwarsmuurtjes aan de koppen van de borstweringen hebben ezelsruggen, net als de schuin weglopende kademuurtjes tegen de achterzijde van de poort.
