Inleiding
FRUITMUUR gelegen aan de doorgaande weg van Poeldijk naar Monster, gebouwd omstreeks 1900 en oorspronkelijk behorend bij een complex kniekassen dat door een warenhuis is vervangen. De muur bestaat uit twee delen, elk van ongeveer 50 meter lengte, gelegen langs de provinciale weg, waarbij één deel om de bocht verder loopt. De muur is aan de straatzijde onderbroken door de inrit naar het achtergelegen bedrijf en het woonhuis.
Omschrijving
Circa 2 meter hoge, tweeëneenhalfsteens brede fruitmuur bestaande uit twee delen van ca. 50 meter opgebouwd uit nissen. De muur is grotendeels parallel aan de weg gelegen. Het noordelijke deel loopt door om de hoek en is op de hoek kwartrond afgewerkt. De muur is opgetrokken in rode handvorm baksteen in halfsteensverband met rechthoekige steunberen. De brede steunberen van het zuidelijke deel van de muur zijn afgedekt met platen. De steunberen van het noordelijke deel met rode oud-Hollandse pannen. De muur is gedekt met een rollaag. De terugliggende vakken tussen de steunberen zijn gepleisterd.
Aan de erfzijde groeien fruitboompjes.
Waardering
De fruitmuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als element in de ontwikkeling van de teelt van leifruit.
De druivenmuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische en typologische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een karakteristieke Westlandse fruitmuur met nissen, verbonden met de geschiedenis van de Westlandse tuinbouw, die zowel regionaal als nationaal van grote betekenis is.
