BOERDERIJ van het dwarshuistype, onderdeel uitmakend van het boerderijcomplex 'Breedam', gebouwd in 1863 in een Traditioneel Ambachtelijke stijl.
Omschrijving
De deels onderkelderde boerderij met een T-vormige plattegrond is vanaf een gepleisterde plint opgetrokken in gele ijsselsteen (kruisverband) met in rode baksteen strekken en rollagen boven de gevelopeningen. De twee haaks op elkaar geplaatste zadeldaken zijn gedekt met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen. De eindgevels van het dwarsgeplaatste voorhuis bezitten gezaagde windveren op overstekende dakgordingen. Het voorste dakschild van het woonhuisgedeelte heeft gesmoorde verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Het woonhuisdeel bezit overwegend zesruits schuifvensters, het staldeel heeft vooral rondboogvormige stalvensters met een gietijzeren roedenverdeling.
De zeven traveeën tellende voorgevel (oost) bevat in de derde travee van links een deur die is geplaatst onder een in roeden verdeeld bovenlicht. In het rechter deel zijn twee vensters geplaatst boven halfrond afgesloten kelderluiken. Centraal in het dakschild een dakkapel onder een lessenaardak met een drie geschakelde ramen.
De rechter kopse zijgevel van het woongedeelte (noord) heeft twee keldervensters met rondboogvormige luiken. Daarboven twee vensters en in de top een samengesteld (Serliaans)venster. In de oksel met het terugliggende stalgedeelte een houten melkhuis met een luik naar de kelder onder een lessenaardak. In het terugliggende deel, ter plaatse van de werkkeuken, een gedeelde deur met vieruits bovenlicht en een venster. Rechts daarvan zes stalvensters.
De linker zijgevel (zuid) van het woonhuis heeft ter plaatse van de zolderverdieping een Serliaans venster. In het stalgedeelte zijn drie stalvensters geplaatst. In de achtergevel (west) drie gedeelde deuren en een hooiluik onder een vierruits bovenlicht.
Interieur De plattegrond-indeling van de boerderij is gehandhaafd. Vermeldenswaard zijn onder meer de kelder met koelbakken en plavuizen, de werkkeuken met pomp, de opkamer met bedstee. Driebeukige stal met standvinken, klinkerbestrating en groepen.
Waardering
De boerderij van het dwarshuistype is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als typologisch voorbeeld van een dwarshuisboerderij uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw, gebouwd in een Traditioneel Ambachtelijke stijl.
De boerderij is gaaf in hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering en bezit enkele waardevolle oorspronkelijke interieuronderdelen.
De boerderij heeft ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van het boerderijcomlex en is beeldbepalend gelegen aan het Haantje, aan de Kastanjewetering.

FARMHOUSE of the transverse-house type, forming part of the farm complex 'Breedam', built in 1863 in a Traditional Craft style.
Description
The partly cellared farmhouse with a T-shaped ground plan is constructed from a plastered plinth in yellow Ijssel brick (English bond) with red brick courses and rolled mouldings above the facade openings. The two gabled roofs placed at right angles to each other are covered with interlocking Dutch tiles. The end gables of the transversely-placed front house have sawn wind braces on projecting roof beams. The front roof slope of the residential section has interlocking improved Dutch tiles. The residential section predominantly has six-light sash windows, the stable section mainly has round-arched stable windows with cast-iron glazing bars.
The front facade (east) comprising seven bays contains in the third bay from the left a door placed beneath a fanlight with glazing bars. In the right part two windows are placed above half-round concluded cellar shutters. Central in the roof slope a roof dormer beneath a lean-to roof with three grouped windows.
The right end side facade of the residential section (north) has two cellar windows with round-arched shutters. Above these two windows and at the top a composite (Serlian) window. In the angle with the recessed stable section a wooden milk house with a shutter to the cellar beneath a lean-to roof. The transverse-house type farmhouse is of general importance because of its cultural and architectural historical value as a typological example of a transverse-house farmhouse from the second half of the 19th century, built in a Traditional Craft style.
The farmhouse is intact in main form, material use and detailing and possesses some valuable original interior components.
The farmhouse has ensemble value as part of the farm complex and is image-defining located on the Haantje, on the Kastanjewetering.
