Inleiding
Voormalig MUNITIEMAGAZIJN "Gebouw 69", ook bekend onder de aanduiding "kleine boerderij", onderdeel van het complex Hembrugterrein - Artillerie Inrichtingen Hembrug, daterend uit 1901. Dit object behoort tot de oudste bewaard gebleven bebouwing van de fabriek en bevindt zich op het noordelijk terreindeel bestemd voor de munitiefabriek. Thans is het gebouw nog als magazijn in gebruik. Het object is in aanleg en datering overeenkomstig het naastgelegen object 85, maar verschilt in de detaillering. Het oorspronkelijk kruisende zakeldak midden op het gebouw is verwijderd evenals het pannendek.
Omschrijving
Munitiemagazijn, gebouwd op rechthoekige plattegrond en bestaande uit één bouwlaag en zolderverdieping onder zadeldak met de nok noord-zuid gericht. Het gebouw is gefundeerd op een houten paalroosterwerk met pijlerblokken van cementbeton en spaarbogen en is opgetrokken met spouwmuren in grauwe baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband. In de gevel zijn verder toegepast: hardsteen voor de beëindiging van de plint die voor het overige gepleisterd is, en voor de onderdorpels, gele en rode baksteen voor band- en lijstwerk en in de vensterbogen. Het is een driebeukige hal over negen traveeën met inwendig ijzeren liggers voor de verdiepingsvloer en een houten kapconstructie bestaande uit een kreupele stijl met blokkeel, spantbalk en een middenstijl tot in de nok. De ijzeren muurankers zijn deels als sieranker uitgevoerd. De vensters zijn uitgevoerd met houten schuifvensters met kleine roedenverdeling. Het gebouw is voorzien van houten goten.
De noord- en zuidgevel bestaan uit drie assen met venster en met een hijsdeur in de top. De puntgevel heeft een hijsbalk en is voorzien van een getrapt fries onder het dakoverstek.
De west- en oostgevel bestaan uit negen vensterassen tussen muurdammen.
Waardering
Het voormalige munitiemagazijn "Gebouw 69" is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een bedrijfsopslaggebouw uit het einde van de 19de eeuw. Het object is tevens van belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex Hembrugterrein, gebouwd in de eerste fase van de fabriek.

Former AMMUNITION MAGAZINE "Building 69", also known as the "small farmhouse", component of the Hembrugterrein complex - Hembrug Artillery Installations, dating from 1901. This object belongs to the oldest preserved structures of the factory and is located in the northern part of the site designated for the ammunition factory. Currently the building is still in use as a warehouse. The object is similar in layout and dating to the adjacent object 85, but differs in the detailing. The original crossing half-hipped roof in the middle of the building has been removed as has the tile cladding.
Description
Ammunition magazine, built on a rectangular plan and consisting of one storey and attic storey under a gabled roof with the ridge oriented north-south. The building is founded on a timber pile-grillage with cement-concrete pier blocks and spandrel arches and is constructed with cavity walls in grey brick laid in Flemish bond. The following materials are further applied in the facades: hardstone for the termination of the plinth which is otherwise rendered, and for the window sills, yellow and red brick for band and moulding work and in the window arches. It is a three-aisle hall over nine bays with internal iron beams for the floor and a timber roof truss structure consisting of a knee-brace with corbel, collar-tie and a central post extending to the ridge. The iron wall anchors are partly executed as ornamental anchors. The windows are timber sash windows with small glazing bar divisions. The building is provided with timber gutters.
The north and south facades consist of three axes with windows and a hoist door at the top. The pointed gable has a hoist beam and is provided with a stepped frieze under the roof overhang.
The west and east facades consist of nine window axes between wall piers.
Valuation
The former ammunition magazine "Building 69" is of general importance due to its cultural and architectural-historical value as an example of an industrial storage building from the end of the 19th century. The object is also of importance as a historical-functional component of the Hembrugterrein complex, built in the first phase of the factory.
