Omschrijving
Inleiding.

Description
Introduction.
The RECTORY was built in 1893 in Neo-renaissance style to the design of architect C. Franssen. The rectory stands next to the St. Petrus Church.
Description.
The rectory consists of a two-storey symmetrical main building of five bays and has two adjoining outbuildings with perpendicular gabled roofs on which black cross tiles. The main building, which has a rectangular floor plan, has a hipped roof with slates in couvrette bond and a roof turret with a bell.
The facades are built of machine-made brick and provided with natural stone string courses and blocks at windows and door.
The central bay projects and ends in a stepped gable. On either side are casement windows with fanlights. At the window sill and in the round arch above the window diamond-shaped blocks have been placed, likewise at the windows on the upper storey. The panel door is located in a round arch portico, above which: "Anno Dom. 1893" can be read. The later door is varnished and has a leaded glass frame, with the Chi-rho symbol at the top.
The ceiling of the portico is a cross-rib vault with leaf consoles. In the stepped gable a small round window is incorporated.
The right outbuilding was used as a kitchen.
The left outbuilding was used as a coach house. It has casement coach doors on the front.
The rear and side facades are sober in design.
In the front garden stands a sturdy false acacia. The grounds are enclosed by an iron fence with arrowheads, resting on a brick base with a saddle-back.
Valuation.
The rectory is of general interest. The building has cultural-historical value as an example of a spiritual development, namely the development of Catholicism and the formation of ecclesiastical centres in the countryside. It moreover typifies two centuries of development of the Brabant church village.
From an architectural-historical perspective it is valuable because of the chosen style and for the work of architect Franssen. The particular significance of the whole is also located in the setting, which is connected with the development of the region. It has been preserved intact.
