Inleiding
Aan de oostelijke zijde van de Helenavaart staat een voormalige BOERDERIJ met SCHUUR, daterende uit omstreeks 1910. De boerderij is mede gebouwd met middelen uit het in 1889 ingestelde Koning Willem III-fonds. Ook dit sobere, eenlaags bakstenen gebouw staat haaks op de as van de Helenavaart.
Omstreeks 1950 is tegen de achtergevel een kleine aanbouw onder lessenaardak geplaatst.
Omschrijving
Het gebouw bestaat uit een woonhuis met onderliggende kelder over de gehele lengte en breedte van het huis. Het muurwerk is opgetrokken uit baksteen. Ter plaatse van de balklaag van de kelder zijn de uiteinden van eenvoudig in het metselwerk opgelegde I-profielbalken en spoorstaven te zien.
De voorgevel aan de Helenavaart heeft twee forse schuifvensters met -deels vernieuwde- kleine roedenverdeling. Er onder belichten twee kleine vensters de kelderruimte. De zuidelijke en noordelijke zijgevel zijn grotendeels blind en hebben met ter hoogte van de keuken enkel een vierruits venster.
Het zadeldak is voorzien van muldenpannen en heeft centraal op de nok een schoorsteen.
Bijzonder is het restant van de regenwaterput aan de zuidelijke zijde van het huis. Ernaast bevindt zich de oude gierput. Tegen de oostelijke gevel, aan de achterzijde van het huis, is een kleine halfsteens uitbouw geplaatst, onder lessenaardak. De kleine schuur staat aan de noordelijke zijde van het woonhuis. Het eenlaags bakstenen bijgebouw heeft een zadeldak met muldenpannen. Via een opgeklampte deur in de westelijke gevel verkrijgt men toegang tot het interieur.
Waardering
De voormalige boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in het ontginningsgebied van de Peel en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de kleine boerderij.
Architectuurhistorisch is het pand van belang vanwege de sobere ornamentiek en de van de traditionele streekeigen vormen afwijkende opzet. Het heeft ensemblewaarden in samenhang met de nederzetting Helenaveen en directe omgeving. De boerderij is belangrijk vanwege de gaafheid van het exterieur en is typologisch zeldzaam.

On the eastern side of the Helenavaart stands a former FARMHOUSE with BARN, dating from around 1910. The farmhouse was also built with funds from the Koning Willem III fund established in 1889. This austere, single-storey brick building also stands at right angles to the axis of the Helenavaart.

Description
