Inleiding
De BOERDERIJ Emmahoeve, gelegen aan de Helenavaart, bestaat uit een bedrijfsdeel met grote veestal en een aangebouwd woonhuis.
Het gebouw dateert uit 1910. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog zijn op kleine schaal wijzigingen aan het exterieur aangebracht, zoals de dakvensters in het zuidelijke dakschild van het woonhuis, en de vernieuwde openslaande terrasdeuren in de zuidelijke woonhuisgevel.
Omschrijving
De boerderij heeft een globaal L-vormige, langgerekte plattegrond, staat haaks op de as van de Helenavaart en bestaat uit een westelijke deel met woonhuis en onderliggende zuivelkelder, en een aangebouwd oostelijk deel met stallen. Het geheel is eenlaags en voorzien van zadeldaken, belegd met muldenpannen. Het woonhuis heeft een globaal vierkante plattegrond en ten westen een symmetrisch opgezette voorgevel, met centraal een via een kleine trap bereikbare, opgeklampte voordeur met dichtgezet bovenlicht, geflankeerd door twee zesruits schuifvensters. In de kapverdieping zijn twee vierruits schuifvensters aangebracht. In de topgevel een klein rondlicht. De onder het woonhuis liggende kelder wordt belicht door vier kleine vensters in de westelijke gevel. Tegen de noordelijke gevel van het woonhuis staat een kleine, oorspronkelijke aanbouw onder lessenaardak, waarin de toegang tot woonhuis en voorstal. Tegen deze aanbouw staat een forse regenwaterput met betonnen filterbakken. De zuidelijke gevel van het woonhuis heeft openslaande deuren die uitkomen op een klein terras, en verder twee zesruits schuifvensters. Het achterliggende, aangebuwde bedrijfsgebouw bestaat uit een langgerekte, driebeukige stal, voorzien van het oorspronkelijke houten gebint. Evenals de Wilhelminahoeve betreft het een stal met middengang, met aan beide zijden stallingsplaatsen voor het vee. Het flauwe zadeldak is belangrijk lager dan dat van het aangrenzende woonhuis. In de lage bakstenen zijgevels verschillende opgeklampte deuren en ijzeren stalvensters. In de eindgevel een inrijpoort.
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in het ontginningsgebied van de Peel en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de ontginningsboerderij.
Architectuurhistorisch is het van belang vanwege de sobere ornamentiek en de van de traditionele streekeigen vormen afwijkende opzet. Description
The farmhouse has a roughly L-shaped, elongated floor plan, stands at right angles to the axis of the Helenavaart and consists of a western part with farmhouse and underlying dairy cellar, and an adjoining eastern part with stalls. The whole is single-storey and provided with gabled roofs, covered with mulden tiles. The farmhouse has a roughly square floor plan and to the west a symmetrically arranged front facade, with centrally a front door accessible via a small staircase with a closed fanlight, flanked by two six-pane sash windows. In the roof storey two four-pane sash windows are placed. In the gable a small round light. The cellar beneath the farmhouse is lit by four small windows in the western facade. Against the north facade of the farmhouse stands a small, original extension under a lean-to roof, containing access to the farmhouse and forecow shed. Against this extension stands a substantial rainwater cistern with concrete filter tanks. The south facade of the farmhouse has glazed doors opening onto a small terrace, and further two six-pane sash windows. The adjoining business building behind consists of an elongated, three-aisle shed, provided with the original wooden roof truss structure. Like the Wilhelminahoeve this is a shed with central passage, with stalling places for livestock on both sides. The shallow gabled roof is considerably lower than that of the adjacent farmhouse. In the low brick side facades various bolted doors and iron cattle windows. In the gable end a carriage entrance.
Valuation
The farmhouse is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical importance as an example of the socio-economic development of agriculture in the reclaimed area of the Peel and as an example of the typological development of the reclaimed farmhouse.
Architecturally it is of importance because of its sober ornamentation and its layout which deviates from traditional regional forms. It has ensemble values in association with the settlement Helenaveen and the immediate surroundings. The farmhouse is important because of the integrity of its exterior and interior and is typologically rare.
