Inleiding:
VILLA "Zonnestraal" gebouwd voor de leerlooiersfamilie P.P.L.J. Reqouin door architect Oscar Leeuw in het eerste kwart van de 20ste eeuw. De architectuur van de villa is een mengeling van Neo-Barokke en Um 1800-elementen. Het huis ligt midden op het perceel.
Omschrijving:
Het tweelaagse huis heeft een samengestelde plattegrond. Het ligt onder twee haaks op elkaar staande, afgewolfde schilddaken met overstek. Het oostelijk dakschild is aan de voet gebogen. Aan de zuidkant bevat het huis een uitgebouwde erker met erboven een balkon en aan de noordkant een serre met berging onder plat dak. Het huis is gebouwd in schoon metselwerk, gemetseld in kruisverband, met op de hoeken gedeeltelijk versneden pilasters. Ook is er siermetselwerk toegepast rond verscheidene vensters van de verdieping. De meeste vensters hebben drie- of vierruits bovenlichten. Deze zijn, net als de vensters van hal, trappenhuis en badkamer, voorzien van gekleurd glas-in-lood met Art-Deco-motieven. De ramen van de serre bevatten roedekruisen. Siersmeedwerk is toegepast in de balustrade van het balkon en voordeurrooster. In de noordgevel bevindt zich boven een venster de naam van het huis in een natuurstenen cartouche.
Het huis heeft een gaaf interieur uit de bouwtijd. De lambrisering, vloer van de entree en de schoorsteenmantel in de woonkamers zijn van wit geaderd marmer. De centraal gelegen hal met trappenhuis heeft een houten lambrisering. De plafonds, glas-in-lood binnendeuren, architraven en andere betimmeringen bevatten eveneenws Art-Deco-motieven.

Most windows have three or four-pane fanlights. These, like the windows of the hall, stairwell and bathroom, are fitted with coloured stained glass with Art Deco motifs. The conservatory windows contain glazing bar crosses. Decorative ironwork is applied in the balustrade of the balcony and front door grille. In the north facade above a window is the name of the house in a natural stone cartouche.
The house has an intact interior from the period of construction. The wainscoting, floor of the entrance and the fireplace mantel in the living rooms are white veined marble.
