Inleiding
In het verlengde van de voormalige TIMMERWERKPLAATS met woning aan de Smidstraat een halfopen SCHUUR, vermoedelijk daterend uit de achttiende eeuw. Het geheel is opgetrokken in ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant en ligt achter de rooilijn van de Smidstraat, aan de rand van de historische dorpskern van Cuijk. De schuur werd gebruikt als houtopslagplaats bij de timmerwerkplaats die hier aantoonbaar vanaf 1832 tot de derde kwart van de twintigste eeuw was gevestigd.
Omschrijving
Halfopen schuur onder schilddak met rode Hollandse dakpannen. De lange gevel aan de Smidstraat en de korte gevel links zijn van oranje-rode baksteen (24 x 12 x 5 cm) boven een hoge gepleisterde plint. De lange gevel heeft uiterst links en uiterst rechts secundair aangebrachte grote houten schuifdeuren aan stalen rails. Daartussen een gedichte deuropening. Bakgoot, staafankers, klezoren bij de linkerhoek. De linker zijgevel heeft uiterst links vlechtingen, die doorlopen tot waar vroeger de stenen buitengevel stond. Klezoren op de hoeken. Drie ankers, waarvan het middelste als Andreaskruis is vormgegeven met aan weerszijden staafankers met uitgesmede krul. De beide andere zijden van de schuur, aan de kant van de tuin, zijn deels beschoten, deels open.
Inwendig heeft de halfopen schuur twee eiken ankerbalkgebinten met korbelen en ingehakte telmerken. Op de ankerbalk liggen slieten en staan schaargebinten waarop driehoeksspanten met spruitbalk, op ieder waarvan flieringen rusten. De fliering op het schaargebint dubbel afgeschoord. Nokgording. Rondhouten sporen.
Waardering
De halfopen schuur behorend bij de voormalige timmerwerkplaats is van algemeen belang. De schuur heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, als onderdeel van een ambachtelijk bedrijf in casu de timmerwerkplaats op het platteland. De schuur heeft architectuurhistorische waarde en historische betekenis vanwege de in- en uitwendig gaaf behouden hoofdstructuur en het traditioneel materiaalgebruik alsmede vanwege de gaaf bewaarde constructie. De schuur heeft ensemblewaarde met de timmerwerkplaats en waarde wegens de verbondenheid met de historisch-ruimtelijke ontwikkeling van het dorp Cuijk. Door de ligging aan de Smidstraat in het verlengde van het woonhuis annex timmerwerkplaats is de schuur straatbeeldbepalend en van stedenbouwkundige betekenis. De oude markeringslinde draagt bij aan de historische situering.

Introduction
In the extension of the former CARPENTRY WORKSHOP with dwelling on the Smidstraat, a half-open BARN, presumably dating from the eighteenth century. The whole is built in traditional craft manner and lies behind the building line of the Smidstraat, at the edge of the historic village core of Cuijk. The barn was used as a timber storage facility for the carpentry workshop that was demonstrably established here from 1832 until the third quarter of the twentieth century.
Description
Half-open barn under hipped roof with red Dutch roof tiles. The long facade facing the Smidstraat and the short facade on the left are of orange-red brickwork (24 x 12 x 5 cm) above a high rendered plinth. The long facade has large wooden sliding doors on steel rails fitted secondarily at the far left and far right. Between them a blocked doorway. Gutter, rod anchors, gutterboards at the left corner. The left side facade has wattle at the far left, which continues to where the stone outer wall formerly stood. Gutterboards at the corners. Three anchors, of which the middle one is shaped as a St Andrew's Cross with rod anchors with wrought curls on either side. The other two sides of the barn, on the garden side, are partly boarded, partly open.
Internally, the half-open barn has two oak anchor beam trusses with corbels and incised carpenters' marks. On the anchor beam lie sleepers and are set scissor trusses upon which triangular roof trusses with crown post rest, on each of which rafters rest. The rafter on the scissor truss double-collared. Ridge beam. Round-wood braces.

The barn has ensemble value with the carpentry workshop and value due to its connection with the historic-spatial development of the village of Cuijk. Through its location on the Smidstraat in extension of the dwelling house adjoining the carpentry workshop, the barn is street-scene-determining and of urban planning significance. The old boundary lime tree contributes to the historical setting.
