De grot staat in het processiepark van de reeds eerder beschermde, door K. Weber gebouwde St. Martinuskerk in het dorp Katwijk.

De grot is opgetrokken uit beton en cement over een kern van baksteen. Hierin bevinden zich een beeld van de H. Maria en van Bernadette Soubirous. Beide beelden zijn kopieën van de beelden die staan in de bedevaartsplaats Lourdes. In de grot is een stuk rots opgenomen afkomstig van de plaats waar Maria verscheen aan Bernadette. Voor de grot bevindt zich een smeedijzeren hek uit de bouwtijd.
