Inleiding
De KORTGEVELBOERDERIJ ligt op de zuidelijke zijde van de kunstmatige verhoging. Deze boerderij bestaat uit een woonhuis met aangrenzend bedrijfsgedeelte met langsdeel en taszolder.
Het geheel dateert uit omstreeks 1850.
Omschrijving
Het driebeukige, in handvorm bakstenen opgetrokken gebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en een met riet gedekt wolfdak. Het muurwerk van de zijgevels van het woonhuis is iets hoger opgemetseld dan dat van het bedrijfsgedeelte. Dit heeft tot gevolg dat de kap daar ook hoger is aangezet. Pas ter hoogte van de nok is dit verschil verdwenen. Het woonhuis heeft een van vlechtingen voorziene (westelijke) voorgevel met vijf vensterassen. Rechts van het midden bevindt zich een omlijste paneelvoordeur met bovenlicht. Alle vensters zijn zesruits schuifvensters, voorzien van opgeklampte luiken.
Op de etage zijn openslaande vensters met bovenlichten toegepast. In de noordelijke zijgevel is een zesruits schuifvenster en een halfvenster. In de zuidwestelijke hoek bevindt zich, blijkens het keldervenster in de voorgevel, de kelder met opkamer. Het bedrijfsgedeelte heeft een opgeklampte getoogde inrijpoort in de (oostelijke) achtergevel. Rechts van deze poort is een opgeklampte deur, erboven een dito tasluik. In de noordelijke zijgevel zijn -twee aan twee- in totaal acht betonnen stalvensters uit omstreeks 1950.
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in het Maasgebied en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de kortgevelboerderij. Architectuurhistorisch is het pand van belang vanwege de sobere ornamentiek, de bouwgeschiedenis en bijzondere samenhang tussen exterieur en interieur. De boerderij is markant gelegen op een verhoging in het landschap en is belangrijk vanwege de gaafheid van het in- en exterieur en als zodanig zeldzaam.

The SHORT-GABLE FARMHOUSE is located on the southern side of the artificial embankment. This farmhouse consists of a dwelling house with adjoining business section with side aisle and hay loft.
The whole dates from around 1850.
Description
The three-aisled building, constructed in hand-moulded brickwork, has a rectangular floor plan and a reed-thatched half-hipped roof. The masonry of the side gables of the dwelling house is built slightly higher than that of the business section. This has the consequence that the roof truss is also set higher there. Only at the level of the ridge does this difference disappear. The dwelling house has a wicker-filled (western) front facade with five window bays. To the right of centre there is a framed panelled front door with fanlight. All windows are six-pane sash windows, fitted with attached shutters.
On the first floor casement windows with fanlights are used. In the northern side gable is a six-pane sash window and a half-window. In the south-western corner, as evidenced by the cellar window in the front facade, is the cellar with room above. The business section has an attached arched carriage entrance in the (eastern) rear facade. To the right of this gate is an attached door, above it a matching hay loft hatch. In the northern side gable are -two by two- a total of eight concrete stable windows from around 1950.
Valuation
The farmhouse is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical significance as an example of the socio-economic development of agriculture in the Maas region and as an example of the typological development of the short-gable farmhouse.
