Inleiding.
ONDERWIJZERSWONING, gebouwd in 1913-14 naar ontwerp van J. van Groenendaal met kenmerken van Neo-Renaissance. De woning staat haaks op Schoolstraat, de zijgevel grenst aan de rooilijn. Tussen school en woning is een afscheiding van een smeedijzeren hek tussen pijlers.
Omschrijving.
Het woonhuis is twee lagen hoog op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder zadeldak waarvan de nok haaks op de straat staat. Tegen de achtergevel is een verspringende éénlaagse aanbouw onder plat dak geplaatst.
Het huis is uitgevoerd in baksteen op een iets uitstekende plint. Rondom zijn speklagen in een afwijkende kleur baksteen aangebracht. Het dak heeft een overstek op klossen en is gedekt met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Het huis heeft in voor- en achtergevel grote ramen onder korfbogen. De ramen hebben roedenverdelingen, de boogvelden in de achtergevel zijn gevuld met metselmozaïek. De topgevels voor en achter hebben een kleiner raam met roedenverdeling. De linkerzijgevel is nagenoeg blind, aan voor- en achterkant een smal raam onder korfboog.
De aanbouwen aan de achterzijde zijn voorzien van deuren.
Waardering.
De onderwijzerswoning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van de sociale ontwikkeling, het representeert de ontwikkeling van het katholiek onderwijs op het platteland. The windows have glazing bars; the arch fields in the rear facade are filled with brick mosaic. The stepped gables front and rear have a smaller window with glazing bars. The left side facade is nearly blank, on front and rear a narrow window beneath a basket arch.
