Inleiding.
Aan de zuidoostelijke zijde van de kruising staat de voormalige boerderij Oosterwijksestraat 12, een LANGGEVELBOERDERIJ (1) daterend uit omstreeks 1885 en ca. 1985 omgebouwd tot woonhuis. Omstreeks 1935 is de stal van de boerderij verbouwd, waarbij in de voorgevel nieuwe stalvensters zijn geplaatst. Het pand staat met de nok van het dak parallel aan de Oosterwijksestraat en wordt daarvan gescheiden door een ondiepe voortuin. Vóór de boerderij staat een linde.
Beschrijving.
De langgevelboerderij heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, telt één bouwlaag plus kapverdieping en wordt gedekt door een rieten zadeldak, dat aan de noordelijke zijde is afgewolfd. Op het dakschild boven de achtergevel ligt een voet met muldenpannen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen. Met name het bedrijfsgedeelte is voorzien van zware smeedijzeren muurankers. De straatgevel is voorzien van een gepleisterde plint. De zuidelijke kopgevel is gecementeerd. In de straatgevel een paneelvoordeur met bovenlicht, aan beide zijde geflankeerd door twee zesruits schuifvensters, voorzien van hardstenen dorpels. In de straatgevel van het bedrijfsdeel een opgeklampte deur, aan beide zijden geflankeerd door twee betonnen stalvensters. Ook in de noordelijke zijgevel zijn drie van dergelijke vensters geplaatst. Op de verdieping een opgeklampt laadluik naar de taszolder, geflankeerd door twee kleine lichten. In de zuidelijke zijgevel van het woonhuis een halfvenster, een samengesteld openslaand venster uit omstreeks 1915 en een zesruits opkamervenster. Op de nok van het dak staan twee gemetselde schoorstenen, waarvan de linkse op de brandmuur.
Het interieur heeft gedeeltelijk nog de oorspronkelijke indeling, met gang, kelder en opkamer. Vóór de boerderij ligt een smal stoepje.
Waardering.
De boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorische waarden als bijzondere uitdrukking van geografische en landschappelijke ontwikkelingen en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de langgevelboerderij. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarden wegens de samenhang tussen exterieur en interieur en de eenvoudige detaillering en afgewogen verhoudingen. Het heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de situering, verbonden met de ontwikkeling van de streek, in het bijzonder tot uiting komend in de erfindeling. Introduction.
On the south-eastern side of the crossing stands the former farmhouse Oosterwijksestraat 12, a LONG-FACADE FARMHOUSE (1) dating from around 1885 and converted around 1985 into a dwelling house. Around 1935 the stable of the farmhouse was converted, with new stable windows being placed in the front facade. The building stands with the ridge of the roof parallel to the Oosterwijksestraat and is separated from it by a shallow front garden. In front of the farmhouse stands a linden tree.
Description.
The long-facade farmhouse has a rectangular floor plan, has one storey plus roof chamber and is covered by a thatched gabled roof, which on the northern side is half-hipped. On the roof slope above the rear facade lies a base with hollow tiles. The facades are built up in brick. In particular the business part is provided with heavy wrought-iron wall anchors. The street facade is provided with a rendered plinth. The southern gable end is cemented. In the street facade a panel front door with fanlight, on both sides flanked by two six-pane sash windows, provided with stone sills. In the street facade of the business part a clamped door, on both sides flanked by two concrete stable windows. Three such windows have also been placed in the northern side facade. On the upper storey a clamped loading door to the hay loft, flanked by two small lights. In the southern side facade of the dwelling house a half window, a composite opening window from around 1915 and a six-pane chamber window. On the ridge of the roof stand two built-in chimneys, of which the left one is on the fire wall.
The interior still has partly the original layout, with hallway, cellar and chamber. In front of the farmhouse lies a narrow stoep.
Valuation.
The farmhouse is of general interest. The building has cultural-historical values as a particular expression of geographical and landscape developments and as an example of the typological development of the long-facade farmhouse. It has architectural-historical values because of the coherence between exterior and interior and the simple detailing and considered proportions. It has ensemble values because of its situation, connected with the development of the region, in particular expressed in the plot division. It is important because of its architectural integrity.
