Inleiding.
De KOSTERSWONING werd gebouwd in sobere Expressionistische stijl in 1927 naar ontwerp van architect B.T. Boeyinga. Het pand staat op de hoek van de Drabbestraat en de De Rouckstraat en is aan het kerkgebouw verbonden door het verenigingslokaal van de kerk. De vensters zijn bij een verbouwing rond 1980 vereenvoudigd.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse hoekpand heeft een schilddak met leien in maasdekking en een eenlaagse uitbouw onder plat dak. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen met rollagen. In de voorgevel aan de Drabbestraat bevindt zich links een gekoppeld tweelichtsvenster. In het midden is een geverniste paneeldeur met verticale vensterstrook gezet. Boven de deur een korte houten luifel op klossen, die doorloopt als uitkragend boeiboord bij de eenlaagse uitbouw. Naast de deur is een kelderraam, in de uitbouw een spleetvenster en op de hoek bij het dak een klein raam. Op de verdieping is direct onder de uitkragende houten gootlijst een laag gekoppeld tweelichtsvenster geplaatst.
De linkerzijgevel springt op de linkerhoek halfsteens uit, als een verwijzing naar de erker voor de gekoppelde drielichtsvensters op begane grond en verdieping. De kosterswoning wordt visueel gescheiden maar ook verbonden met het verenigingsgebouw door een brede bakstenen schoorsteen. De rechterzijgevel laat zien, dat het raam hoog in de uitbouw doorloopt. De achtergevel bezit een deur naar de keuken met een tweelichts zijraam daarnaast. Rechts boven in de gevel bevindt zich een tweelichts openslaand raam.
Waardering.
De kosterswoning is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw is van cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de ontwikkeling de gereformeerde religie in een katholieke regio. On the upper storey, directly below the projecting wooden gutter line, a low coupled two-light window is placed.
The left side gable steps out on the left corner half-brick width, as a reference to the bay for the coupled three-light windows on ground floor and upper storey. The caretaker's dwelling is visually separated but also connected to the members' building by a broad brick chimney. The right side gable shows that the window high in the extension continues.
