The register's description

Inleiding.

Introduction.

The LONG-FACADE FARMHOUSE was built around 1935-1939, presumably according to a design by architect Max Winders from Antwerp, in Traditionalist style with circa 1800 motifs. Most of the windows and doors were renewed around 1970.

Description.

The two-storey long-facade farmhouse has a rectangular floor plan and a gabled roof overhanging on all sides with red improved Dutch roof tiles. The facades are constructed of machine-made brick. The plinth and window sills are of hard stone. The front facade has the residential section on the left with the front door between two arched tilt windows with an arched fanlight. All fanlights are provided with a brick eyebrow arch. The windows of the residential house are provided with arched shutters with triple diablo painting.

Above the door there are two small window panes, coupled by a window sill and eyebrow arch. The window panes and shutters on the upper storey are overshadowed by the broad overhang on narrow wooden brackets. Next to this residential section is a stable door and a six-paned window. Above this respectively coupled window panes and an arched shutter. The second half of the building has a later narrowed stable door, a six-paned window with shutter above and a window converted to a four-paned stable window. The side facades are provided with stable door, stable windows and hay flap. In the ridge is a four-paned steel round window. The rear facade is provided with a number of double stable doors, six-paned stable windows and tilt windows for the residence.

Valuation.

The farmhouse is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical significance as an example of socio-economic development, in particular the reclamation and establishment of estates with agricultural function near the national border; it is also significant as an example of the typological development of the farmhouse. It has architectural-historical value because of the distinctive variant of the Traditionalist style. The complex is also significant because of the integrity, particularly of the exterior, and the high quality of the constituent components.
