Omschrijving
Inleiding.

Description
Introduction.
The BOERDERIJ JORISSENHOEVE was built in 1941-1942 in a style related to the Delftse School with Neo-baroque elements. Around 1980 some windows were simplified and the shutters renewed. The interior was also partly modernized at that time.
Description.
The farmhouse has an almost rectangular floor plan and a gabled roof with red and black curved tiles. The facades are built of brick with soldier courses and decorative brickwork. The front facade is characterized by a stepped gable with inward and outward angles. This facade on the street side has on the ground floor two cross windows with small glazing bars and shutters. These windows are placed under a lintel, in contrast to the windows on the upper storey. These hipped windows with shutters are closed by a round arch with a spandrel containing brick mosaic. A natural stone cartouche with band and roll ornamentation gives the name Jorissenhoeve and the year 1941. Above it is placed as an attic window an oval horizontal four-light oeil de boeuf. The steps of the stepped gable are clad with profiled natural stone slabs, the stepped gable is crowned by a broad chimney. The left side facade has, adjoining the front facade, a recessed section for the dwelling house. In it are located on the ground floor a small window, a panelled door and a four-light window. The shutters and the panels of the door have a special arrangement, inspired by "à livre ouvert". The curved fanlight of the front door has decorative glazing bars. Below the eaves is a frieze of zigzag decorative brickwork. Above the door a roof dormer is placed in the roof under an elongated sloping roof. The division of the dwelling section is also visible in the chimney.
Behind it is the long stable section. As wall openings in it a round-arched stable door, two round-arched iron stable windows, a round-arched double stable door and again two round-arched iron six-light stable windows. The rear facade of the stable is designed as an undecorated stepped gable with a stable door, a stable window to the right and a round-arched hay door. The dwelling section in the right side facade is somewhat wider than in the stable part. At the dwelling house a cross window and further a cellar window and a hipped window with shutters for the upper chamber. Below the tiles again a frieze with zigzag edge. The stable section has several small stable windows and in the middle a small inward-angled stepped gable with hay door.
Valuation.
The farmhouse is of general interest. The building has cultural-historical importance as an example of a socio-economic development, in particular the establishment of model farmhouses on estates in the interwar period. It has architectural-historical value because of the style, the aesthetic qualities of the design and because of the ornamentation. The complex is important because of the integrity, in particular of the exterior, and the high quality of the constituent components. The complex is important because of the architectural-historical rarity of such a design.
