The register's description

Inleiding.

Introduction.

The STABLE belonging to the farmhouse Jorissenhoeve was built in 1938 in a style related to the Delftse School with Neo-baroque elements. The stable is situated, somewhat set back, parallel to the farmhouse.

Description.

The stable has a rectangular floor plan and a gabled roof with red curved tiles. The facades are built of brick with soldier courses and decorative brickwork. Front and rear facades are characterized by a stepped gable with inward and outward angles. The brickwork is supported by diagonally sloping buttresses at the corners. The front facade on the street side has on the ground floor on the left a round-arched stable door and in the middle round-arched double stable doors. To the right a six-light stable window with round arch spandrel.

The beam layer and the roof truss structure are indicated by curled wrought-iron ornamental wall anchors. In the stepped gable a round-arched hay door and on either side a six-light stable window under round-arched spandrel. The inward and outward angled sections have steps with natural stone covering slabs. A four-light iron round window serves as an attic window. The stepped gable is crowned by a pilaster with ornamental ball. The side facades have six-light stable windows under round arch, in the middle right a round-arched stable door. The side walls have straight wall anchors of different lengths. To the left front a deviating large sixteen-light sash window is placed. The rear facade corresponds in arrangement and detailing largely to the front facade.

Valuation.

The stable is of general interest. The building has cultural-historical importance as an example of a socio-economic development, in particular the establishment of model farmhouses on estates in the Interwar period. It has architectural-historical value because of the style, the aesthetic qualities of the design and because of the ornamentation. The complex is important because of the integrity, in particular of the exterior, and the high quality of the constituent components. The complex is important because of the architectural-historical rarity of such a design.
