Inleiding.
Aan de zuidelijke zijde van het erf staat een WOONHUIS uit omstreeks 1860 in Ambachtelijk-Traditionele vormen met Eclectische motieven. Het pand is met de nok haaks op de dijk gesitueerd. In 1966 zijn aan vensters en voordeur enkele wijzigingen doorgevoerd.
Omschrijving.
Het woonhuis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, telt een bouwlaag en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Op de nok van het dak staat een kleine dakruiter met klok. Op zowel de westelijke als de oostelijke gevel staat een schoorsteen.
De gevels zijn opgetrokken in handvorm baksteen en voorzien van een gepleisterde plint. De op het zuiden gelegen voorgevel heeft een symmetrische vijfassige indeling. In het midden een vernieuwde voordeur met bovenlicht met smeedijzeren sierrooster, geflankeerd door schuifvensters met een vereenvoudigde indeling. Alle vensters zijn voorzien van paneelluiken, met aan de bovenzijde een louvre-paneel.
In de westelijke straatgevel zijn op de begane grond twee en op de verdieping één van dergelijke beluikte vensters aangebracht. Aan de noordoostelijke zijde van het woonhuis is de kelder met opkamer gesitueerd. In de noordelijke gevel zijn twee kelderlichten. De verdere indeling van deze gevel is symmetrisch: een paneelvoordeur met bovenlicht (waarop de over de volle lengte van het woonhuis lopende gang uitkomt) wordt aan beide zijden geflankeerd door twee vensters als in de voorgevel. Via een eenvoudig tussenlid, met in de noordelijke gevel een garagedeur, is het woonhuis verbonden met het karschop (2).
Waardering.
Het woonhuis is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in West-Brabant en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het boerenwoonhuis. Architectuurhistorisch is het pand van belang vanwege de ornamentiek. Het geheel heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de samenhang met het omliggende poldergebied dat nog de oorspronkelijke verkaveling bezit. Het is belangrijk vanwege de gaafheid en is als vertegenwoordiger van een meerledige polderboerderij van het West-Brabantse type zeldzaam.

The residential house has a rectangular floor plan, comprises one storey and is covered by a gabled roof with improved Dutch tiles. On the ridge of the roof stands a small roof turret with bell. On both the western and eastern facade stands a chimney.
The facades are built up in handmade brick and provided with a plastered plint. The south-facing front facade has a symmetrical five-axis arrangement. In the centre a renewed front door with fanlight with wrought-iron ornamental grille, flanked by sash windows with a simplified arrangement. All windows are provided with panel shutters, with at the top a louvre panel.
In the western street facade on the ground floor two and on the first floor one such shuttered windows are installed. On the north-eastern side of the residential house the cellar with upper room is situated. In the northern facade are two cellar lights. The further arrangement of this facade is symmetrical: a panel front door with fanlight (onto which the passage running the full length of the residential house opens) is flanked on both sides by two windows as in the front facade. Via a simple connecting element, with in the northern facade a garage door, the residential house is connected with the cart-shed (2).
Valuation.
The residential house is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical importance as an example of the social-economic development of agriculture in West Brabant and as an example of the typological development of the farmer's dwelling house. Architecturally the building is of importance because of its ornamentation. The whole has ensemble value because of the coherence with the surrounding polder area that still possesses the original subdivision. It is important because of its intactness and as a representative of a multi-part polder farmhouse of the West Brabant type is rare.
