Omschrijving
Inleiding.
Op de begraafplaats ten oosten van de kerk bevindt zich een georiënteerd GRAFMONUMENT. Het oudste deel is vervaardigd in 1869 en diende als graf voor Victor van de Mortel; later ook voor J.H. Mahie en G.A. van Son. Bij een uitbreiding van het graf in 1906 is dit deel mogelijk op een verhoging komen te staan toen er een nieuwe grafruimte werd gebouwd direct onder en aan de westzijde van het bestaande graf. Stilistisch vertoont het invloeden van het Neo-Classicisme. De om drie zijden van het graf gelegde tegelvloer dateert uit later tijd en valt buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving.
Het grafmonument beslaat een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het mogelijk oudere, deels uit hardsteen vervaardigde deel bevindt zich aan de oostzijde en is noord-zuid georiënteerd. Het bestaat uit een dunne voetplaat waarop een driedelig, samengesteld basement de sarcofaag ondersteunt. Alle zijden van de sarcofaag voorzien van in licht reliëf gebeitelde hardstenen plaquettes, bekroond met een driehoekig fronton met geprofileerd lijstwerk dat op de aanzetpunten en op de top voorzien is van krulwerk en palmetten. In de tympaanvelden aan drie zijden wapens, aan de oostzijde een palmtak met krans, symbolisch voor de overwinning, in de zin van gelukkige voleinding van het leven. Afdekking met een samengesteld zadeldak met centraal op de noklijn een kruis met bol. Het mogelijk jongere deel bestaat uit een rechthoekig gemetseld en gecementeerd volume hier onmiddellijk onder en een dito volume, haaks erop geplaatst, onder een hardstenen zadeldak met licht overstek en een hardstenen vorstkam, aan de westzijde bekroond met decoratief kruis. Op de dakschilden een zestal witmarmeren plaquettes met ingebeitelde teksten. In de westzijde een metalen toegangsdeur met decoratief beslagwerk.
Waardering.
Het object is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarden als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van de rooms-katholieke grafcultuur en van een sociale ontwikkeling. Daarnaast is het object van belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een graftype. Het object heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een historisch gegroeid religieus ensemble, bestaande uit de begraafplaats met monumentaal toegangshek, de kerk, het belendende St. Albertusklooster en de nabijgelegen pastorie (rijksmonument). Het object is van belang wegens de gaafheid en de relatieve zeldzaamheid van de verschijningsvorm.

Introduction.
On the cemetery to the east of the church stands an oriented GRAVE MONUMENT. The oldest part was made in 1869 and served as a grave for Victor van de Mortel; later also for J.H. Mahie and G.A. van Son. During an enlargement of the grave in 1906 this part may have been raised when a new grave space was built directly below and on the west side of the existing grave. The grave monument covers a rectangular ground plan. The possibly older part, partly constructed of hard stone, is located on the east side and is oriented north-south. It consists of a thin base slab on which a three-part, composite basement supports the sarcophagus. All sides of the sarcophagus provided with hard stone plaques incised in low relief, crowned with a triangular pediment with moulded frame that is provided at the bases and at the apex with scrollwork and palmettes. In the tympanum fields on three sides coats of arms, on the east side a palm branch with wreath, symbolic of victory, in the sense of the happy completion of life. Covering with a composite gabled roof with a cross and sphere centrally on the ridge. The possibly younger part consists of a rectangular masonry and cemented volume located immediately below and an identical volume, placed at right angles to it, under a hard stone gabled roof with light overhang and a hard stone ridge tile, crowned on the west side with a decorative cross. On the roof slopes six white marble plaques with incised inscriptions. On the west side a metal access door with decorative metalwork.
Valuation.
The object is of general importance. It has cultural-historical values as a particular expression of the development of Roman Catholic grave culture and of a social development. Furthermore the object is of importance as a particular expression of a grave type. The object has ensemble values as part of a historically grown religious ensemble, consisting of the cemetery with a monumental entrance gate, the church, the adjoining St. Albertus Monastery and the nearby parsonage (national monument). The object is of importance because of the integrity and the relative rarity of its appearance.
